The study investigated Online Marketing and the Performance of Small and medium scale enterprises in Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos State. Survey research design was employed for the study where 142 respondents (sample size) from the selected total estimated population of 221 SMEs for the study area and were gathered using structured questionnaire. Their responses were tested using appropriate statistical tools of SPSS package using the ANOVA, the correlation, and the regression too. Our study revealed that the Online Marketing affected the performance of SME positively which has allowed youths to be self-employed and created economic growth and regional development. Therefore, the study recommended that solving the performance of SME development can be single handedly done using Online Marketing. Hypothesis one shows correlation (r) value = 66.6% (0.666), at the P value of < 0.05, which shows that the regression model was fit. Hypothesis two shows that R2 of 0.452, and value of P > 0.05, adjusted R2 = 0.446, R2 measures the percentage of variation in the dependent variable caused by variation in the independent variable. This research provides recommendations extracted from findings that, businesses need to develop indigenous technology; new products or processes based on innovations; seek, commercialize or exploit new technology ideas to meet market needs, customer expectations/preferences and consumer demands and identify market opportunities.
Technopreneurship has become a lever to propel creativity and innovation in businesses today. This study investigates the impact of technopreneurship on business performance among agro-businesses in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. The study examined empirical evidences on the impact of technopreneurship on business performance. The survey method was adopted. The quantitative research design was employed. Yamane formula was used to determine the sample size. A sample of 126 respondents was selected through random sampling method from of a population of 183 agro-businesses within the study areas and 74% response rate was recorded. Primary method of data collection was used. A well-structured questionnaire was administered and responses were analysed using linear regression on SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) version 20. The survey demonstrates that technological innovation has significant effect on firm competitiveness (P = 0.000 < 0.05; R 2 = 0.183) and also technological opportunities significantly influence on firm operational efficiency (P = 0.000 < 0.05; R 2 = 0.445). Based on the results of findings, the study recommends that businesses need to develop or exploit indigenous technology; new products or processes based innovations; seek new technology ideas and significant technological changes which are key to competitiveness.
Workforce Diversity Management is gradually being used and becoming acceptable as a significant organizational resource in esteems to whether the objective is to be an employer choice, to offer outstanding customer service, or to sustain a competitive advantage. It also has verified to have controlled to an opinion of being essential for organizational performance especially in the Food and Beverage Industry in Nigeria. This ultimate faith forces managers to hold and understand the theory of workforce Diversity, its benefits and challenges. As such, this study examined the effect impact of workforce diversity management towards organizational performance which focuses into the food and beverage industry within the larger manufacturing sector. The research also emphases on workforce diversity management which contains the employee communication(EC) as a mechanism in reducing conflicts and talent availability(TA) which are the utmost critical variables amongst the others. The study employed primary data mainly for revalidation of results and inferential information from secondary sources. Primary data was harnessed from the views of managers and employees of the foods and beverage industries through questionnaire. The study adopted cross sectional research design and considered 3 multinational corporations in the food and beverage sector in Nigeria based on random sampling technique. The sample size constituted the lower, middle and senior level staff of the multinational Corporations at their headquarters and plants to achieve the objectives of this study based on the two hypotheses that were formulated. Both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were employed. The statistical tools used included cross tabulations, Mean, Regression and Correlation analysis with the aid of SPSS computer packages. The results showed that employee communication (EC) have significant effect on organizational effectiveness (OE) (at P=0.000). It was discovered that talent availability (TA), has significant relationship on employee retention (ER)(at P= 0.002), the study reflected that Workforce diversity represents both a challenge and an opportunity for business and corporate entity. Hence, no organization in this dispensation of Globalization can survive without workforce Diversity. The study recommends that; organization ought to accord due priority for optimum utilization of strength of workforce diversity and institute measures to enhance commitment among the employees for improvement of organizational performance. Organizations should make workforce diversity management a core business value because diverse work teams bring high value to organizations and respecting individual differences will benefit the workforce by creating a competitive edge and increasing work productivity.
The cornerstone of entrepreneurship is Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) and it is one of the significant predictors of SMEs performance. The concept of EO has been widely discussed through previous studies in entrepreneurship, so it can be considered as one of the main topics in this field, and the most commonly used measure of entrepreneurial behaviour or inclination in strategies and entrepreneurship studies. EO has emerged as an area of research, and EO impact studies have become a sub-field in Entrepreneurship Education research. The objectives of the study were to determine the effect of organisational learning (OL) on SMEs performance and also to examine the effect of innovative performance on EO. The study population refers to the managers of SMEs registered with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) in Lagos State, Nigeria. Analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation efficiency, and regression analysis was employed. The research found that EO affects organisational learning in an SME context. EO has a strong effect on learning and expands learning scope by encouraging companies to challenge the status quo and to make it more flexible and alter the way they work. There is a significant and positive relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and organisational learning within firms because it was revealed that entrepreneurial orientation has different impacts on the individual components of strategic learning. Moreover, the results of the study indicated that EO affects innovative performance. Entrepreneurialism significantly affects innovation and performance. Innovativeness, proactiveness and risk-taking have a strong impact on creating innovation, and entrepreneurial activity which enhances innovative behaviour. The study recommends that SMEs in Nigeria should be more proactive in developing strategies, improving operations, and paying attention to entrepreneurial orientation and organisational learning. Entrepreneurial orientation behaviours should be strengthened within SMEs, and should take advantage of the outputs in order to develop organisational learning processes, creative performance, corporate performance, improved decision-making processes, and adaptation to a rapidly changing work environment. Additionally, managers of these enterprises should encourage risk-taking in new initiatives and project planning processes.
