Complexes of Cu (II), Ni (II), and Co (II) with hydrazone derivatives of salicylic acid hydrazide and 3,5-di-tert-butyl salicylic aldehyde (LH) were synthesized and the structure of these compounds studied by means of elemental analysis methods, IR and electronic spectroscopy, magnetochemistry and thermal analysis. It revealed that the complexes are monomeric and have a composition [MLXSoI] where M is a metal ion, L is a ligand, X is an inorganic anion, and Sol is a solvent molecule. LH- in the complexes behaves like a monoanionic tridentate ligand. It found that the resulting complexes exhibit noticeable inhibitory and urease activity.
Fe(C 11 H 9 N 2 O 5) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ]•3(C 3 H 7 NO) (1), [Mn(C 11 H 9 N 2 O 5) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ]•3(C 3 H 7 NO) (2) and [Cu(C 11 H 9 N 2 O 5) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ]•3(C 3 H 7 NO) (3)complexes have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR and EPR spectra, magnetic susceptibility and thermal analysis. All complexes show distorted octahedral geometry. In 1, 2 and 3complexes, metal ions are coordinated by means of two oxygen atoms of salicylic residue and two nitrogen atoms bonded with maleic residue and two water molecules.
By reduction of 1-nicotinoyl-(2-salicylidene)hydrazone with use NaBH 4 1-nicotinoyl-2-(2-hydroxybenzyl)hydrazine was obtained. Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) complexes with these ligands were synthesized and their structure was studied. It was shown that first ligand behaves as a dianionic tridentate, while second is monoanionic tridentate.
Bis-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-salicylidene) dihydrazone of succinic acid dihydrazide was synthesized and its analogue-reduced azomethine bond. The complexes of Mn (II) and Fe (II) with these ligands were obtained. Based on the data of IR-, electron spectroscopy and elemental analysis, of the obtained complexes is assumed the binuclear structure. The possibility of catalytic reduction of the azomethine bond with NaBH 4 to the corresponding succinic acid bis-(2-hydroxybenzyl) succinic dihydrazide was shown. It was found that all obtained compounds have high bactericidal and fungicidal activities.
New Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and VO(II) complexes with reduced Schiff bases were obtained from salicylic acid hydrazide and 3,5-di-tert-butyl salicylic aldehyde. The structure of these complexes was studied by means of IR-,UV VIS spectrometry, thermosgravimetry and elemental analysis. It was found, that the coordination of the metal ions is due to oxygen of the amide group in the enol form, the nitrogen atom of the hydrazine group and oxygen atom of the salicylaldiminate fragment and the complexes have compositions with metal: ligand ratio is 1: 1.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
