Abstract-Environmental Radiation Protection: methodology and experience feedback from EDF. Like any nuclear operator, EDF carries out environmental impact studies as part of its regulatory filings or other requests for authorizations. Because these have evolved in recent years, particularly because of the application of new international recommendations (IAEA, ICRP), this article presents the use by an operator of the ERICA method (Environmental Risk for Ionizing Contaminants: Assessment and management), a method of evaluation of environmental risks that has been developed within the framework of a European project. Illustrated by examples and practical situations encountered at a national and international level, EDF proposes a review of the use of this method in real conditions. This feedback helped to highlight the tool's axes of improvement which were submitted to the consortium in charge of the ERICA development.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
