Objective: to understand the moral experience of a nursing team that does not take care of cancer patients. Method: Qualitative study, based on a non-referential basis of Medical Anthropology, which recognizes the human being as being aware of their thoughts and practices, as well as understanding that the problems that permeate health emerge from the interaction of two cultural and social factors, environmental, political and economic contexts. Research was carried out in the Oncology Unit of a reference hospital that does not treat people with cancer in Brazil. To select two intentionally occurring, non-probabilistic participants. An analysis was an issue. Results: As a research, it is possible to affirm that you are professionals in cancer care because you have a philosophy of differentiated care, a bond with the patient and a feeling of relief related to moral growth. Conclusion: Based on two identified results, it is considered that nurses who practice cancer care live with moral and cultural issues that involve the care of cancer patients, generating moral support associated with personal, cultural and institutional values, according to the participants identified.
