Objective. To describe the relationship between socio demographic and clinical variables and perceived social support and coping strategies in a sample of patients with cancer. Method. A transversal research quantitative approach was applied, in which 82 patients were evaluated; subjects were selected by non-probability sampling, socio demographic data were collected through a questionnaire designed for the study. It conducted an analysis of multiple correspondences. Results. It was found that medical and socio demographic variables are strongly correlated with the scores on the questionnaires, and the same trends were found in the sample evaluated, the data was grouped according to certain socio demographic and clinical characteristics. Conclusion. Clinical and socio demographic variables are correlated with the perception of social support and coping strategies in patients with cancer. The importance of taking into account the socio demographic and clinical variables in their relationship with social support and coping strategies for designing psychological intervention programs in cancer patients is discussed.Keywords. Metodologia. Pesquisa transversal de enfoque quantitativo, na que foram avaliados 82 pacientes com diagnóstico de câncer, selecionados por amostragem não probabilística, a conveniência. Como instrumentos foram utilizados a Escada de Estratégia de foram recoltados com um questionário desenhado para o estudo. Foi feita uma análise de correspondências múltiplas. Resultados relacionadas com as pontuações dos questionários. Uma tendência particular na amostra foi que os dados e clínicas. Conclusão. As variáveis sócio-e clínicas estão relacionadas com a percepção do apoio social e as estratégias de afrontamento em pacientes com câncer, sendo crítica esta informação para o desenho de programas de intervenção psicológica em pacientes oncológicos. The worldwide variation in asthma prevalence prompted us to carry out a study to assess the variability of asthma-related symptoms in young adults on the islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife. We used the questionnaire used in the European Community Respiratory Health Survey with the addition of two questions on smoking and ancestors from the Canary Islands. In each island, this questionnaire was distributed to a random sample of 5000 subjects aged 20 -44 years. Of the 10,000 subjects, 9,506 (95.06%) were considered eligible. We obtained 7,132 (75.03%) responses. The prevalence of the different symptoms was wheezing 25.3%, nocturnal thoracic tightness 18.0%, awakened by an attack of shortness of breath 13.1%, attack of nocturnal coughing 33.3%, attack of asthma 4.3%, current asthma treatment 6.2%, and nasal allergies 18.0%. Women and smokers showed a significantly higher prevalence of asthma symptoms. No significant difference in symptoms was found between subjects whose ancestors were of Canarian origin and those with ancestors born outside the Canaries. As has been observed on other islands (Great Britain and New Zealand), asthma is common in individuals from 20 to 44 years of age in the Canaries. We hypothesize that climatic conditions play an important role in the prevalence of asthma symptoms.
Partiendo de la premisa de que la educación formal tiene una influencia directa en la construcción de cierto tipo de ciudadanía –en la producción y reproducción de imaginarios sociales y prácticas individuales y colectivas que tienen un impacto directo tanto en el medioambiente como en la sociedad y en la cultura– y siendo conscientes de la crisis ecológica global a la que nos enfrentamos actualmente, es necesario un cambio del sistema educativo para abordar las consecuencias medioambientales y sociales que genera el sistema capitalista neoliberal y patriarcal en el que nos encontramos. Siempre manteniendo una perspectiva de género e inclusiva que luche contra las opresiones de los poderes dominantes y fomente la equidad y la justicia social. Bajo esta idea, el presente artículo pretende analizar la Ley para la Implementación de la Educación Ambiental Integral en la República Argentina, que entró en vigor en junio de 2021, y reflexionar sobre su impacto en la sociedad desde una perspectiva ecofeminista.
