In this paper, performance of a cooperative decodeand-forward system is analyzed in κ-µ, η-µ, and mixed κ-µ and η-µ fading environment. Exact expressions for the average symbol error rate are derived for M -ary phase-shift keying modulated data using moment generating function based approach. Further, asymptotic expressions at high signal-to-noise ratio are analyzed to obtain optimal power allocation at the source and the relay node. Diversity order for the different fading types is also obtained. The effect of source to destination distance on the performance of cooperative fixed-relay system is observed for equal and optimal power allocations.Index Terms-Average symbol error rate (SER), decode-andforward (DF) relaying, M -ary phase-shift keying (MPSK), η-µ fading, κ-µ fading, optimal power allocation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
