The article presents a new concept of combining the three dimensions (3D) of a person's manipulation space. The data concern information about the reach of the arms and biomechanical data about limiting the load of a disabled person sitting in a wheelchair. Measurement data were acquired empirically, on original measuring station. The data included, respectively, arms' reach (static and dynamic) or, alternatively, measurements of limiting forces. The obtained data were processed into virtual 3D surfaces of arms' reach and forces. These surfaces provide the required graphic model of anthropotechnical and biomechanical data. Developed model was utilized to perform a virtual analysis of the accessibility of a disabled person to technical means: in a market sale space and in the ergonomic analysis into the space of a personal car. The presented method of 3D graphic modeling of anthropometrical and biomechanical data can be universally applied in ergonomic designing of work stations not only for disabled persons. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

The objective of the research project was to present new possibilities of accessibility and usefulness analysis in virtual designing of the work environment for a disabled person. This new computer tool of graphic record of anthropometric and biometric data of the set of layers was employed for a number of spectacular analyses essential for the designing practice. Results of the following investigations were presented: transfer from the wheelchair into the car of a disabled person and the accessibility of the car interior for a disabled driver, accessibility of a supermarket space for a person on a wheelchair, accessibility of furniture and equipment within the space of a typical kitchen meeting the requirements of universal design. The objects of investigations and analyses were transferred to the virtual environment of the ergonomic module of CATIA v5 computer system.

One ofthe ways ofusing laser in industry is its usage in loss treatment ofwood and composite wood products. In furniture industry the above mentioned machining is used in such technological processes in which tool machining (sawing, moulding ) is not economical or even possible.These processes are mainly curvilnear cutting of:layers materials like for ex ample: veneers, plywood and face layers thicker materials like for e > ample particleboards, fibreboards and lumbercore panels.Wide usage has also heat treatment in wood for its decoration. It can be: calcinating designs, engraving them , blackning of parts of surfaces, changing of anatomic characteristics ofwood tissue. Nevertheless laser usage in reclinear cutting seems at present causeless.
