The structures of the quinoline adduct with bis(diethyldithiophosphinato)nickel(II) and the 1,10-phenanthroline and 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline adducts with bis(0,0 '-dimethyldithiophosphato)nickel(II) have been determined by single-crystal X-ray techniques. The nickel atom is hexacoordinated in the 1,10-phenanthroline adduct and pentacoordinated in the quinoline adduct as well as in the 2,9-dimethyl-l, 10-phenanthroline adduct. These results suggest that pentacoordinated mixed-ligand complexes of nickel(II) can be obtained by the addition of an appropriate ligand, which may be either monodentate or bidentate, to the planar nickel(II) dithiophosphates or dithiophosphinates.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
