Previous dental state will affect the development of dental health in adulthood. Through training programs is expected to increase knowledge and raise awareness of the importance of maintaining oral health and able to participate actively in increasing efforts to maintain self. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of extension methods and audio visual demonstration of the knowledge brushing teeth.This research uses descriptive quantitative method is a method of research conducted with the main objective to create a picture or a description of a situation in an objective that has to do with the problems examined. The instrument used was the questionnaire.From the results of the study conducted by researchers in the field to the students of class V and VI Elementary School Pedalangan 02 Semarang is known that after counseling with the demonstration of the results obtained knowledge of students of class V in both categories with a score of 7 and after counseling with audio visual results obtained knowledge graders VI enter both categories with a value 6.95. It can be concluded that the extension demonstration and extension with audio visual effective for use in improving the knowledge toothbrushing on elementary school children.Key words : Counseling method of demonstration and audio visual, knowledge of brushing teeth
Children are vulnerable to caries and other dental diseases because they still need help from parents and families to guide them in maintaining the cleanliness of their teeth and mouth. One effort to improve dental and oral health is by maintaining dental and oral health. However, people often ignore their dental and oral health problems caused by lack of knowledge of dental and oral health. Insufficient knowledge about dental and oral hygiene is one reason that children ignore dental and oral health problems. One of the ways to improve dental and oral health knowledge is through dental and oral health education. And success in efforts to educate dental health in school children is inseparable from the educational method and the importance of the role of a media because it can support the learning process, facilitate students in understanding learning material. Through the media, the messages delivered can be more interesting and easy to understand. One of the media used is busy book. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the busy book media on the level of dental and oral health knowledge in grade 3 elementary school students. The type of this study was quantitative with a quasiexperimental method with a pretest-posttest group design study design. The sample of this study was grade 3 students of SDN Rowocacing in Pekalongan Regency with 18 students from the busy book group. Data analysis using Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney test. The results of the statistical test with the Wilcoxon test showed that there were differences in knowledge between before and after counseling, the value of p-value of busy media book = 0,000 means that there were differences before and after counseling using the busy book media. The Mann-Whitney test showed that there was a significant difference in effectiveness between counseling and the busy book media on increasing dental and oral health knowledge with p-value = 0.02.
ABSTRAKPengetahuan yang kurang mengenai kebersihan gigi dan mulut merupakan salah satu penyebab anak mengabaikan masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada anak kelompok sekolah perlu mendapatkan perhatian khusus sebab pada usia ini anak sedang menjalani proses tumbuh kembang Keadaan gigi sebelumnya akan berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan kesehatan gigi pada usia dewasa nanti. Melalui program penyuluhan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan menumbuhkan kesadaran akan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut dan dapat berpartisipasi secara aktif dalam meningkatkan upaya pelihara diri Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh penyuluhan menggunakan media video dan boneka tangan terhadap peningkatan kesehatan gigi dan mulut Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan rancangan Two Group Design. Sample yaitu Siswa SDI Islam Diponegoro teknik pengambilan sample purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data univariat dan bivariat dengan uji wilcoxon dan mann-withney.Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut menggunakan media video dan boneka tangan berpengaruh dalam peningkatkan pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut hal ini terlihat dari penaikan nilai pre-tet dan post-test masing-masing dengan nilai p<0,05. Tapi berdasarkan uji statistik tidak ada perbedaan pengaruh yang signifikan penyuluhan menggunakan media video dan boneka tangan mendapatkan nilai p= 0,465 yang berarti p>0,005.Kedua media efektif dalam peningkatan pengetahuan namun tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara metode video dan boneka tangan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan anak sekolah dasar tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut Kata kunci : Pengetahuan, Penyuluhan Kesehatan Gigi media video dan boneka __________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT Knowledge less regarding oral hygiene is one cause of child neglect oral health problems. The bacteria that play an important role in the formation of plaque is bacteria that is capable of forming extracellular polysaccharide, that bacteria of the genus Streptococcus. Streptococcus bacteria are found in large quantities in patients with plaque caries is Streptococcus mutans One effort to prevent the occurrence of dental and oral diseases is to inhibit the growth of bacteria in the mouth. Red betel leaf can be used to inhibit the bacteria Streptococcus mutans. Streptococcus mutans is the bacterial pathogen.The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different concentrations of red betel leaves boiled water as the inhibition of the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria.This type of research is a quasi experimental approach to post-test design. The study was conducted at the Laboratory of Microbiology to sample the bacteria Streptococcus mutans and simple random sampling technique. This study uses pure Streptococcus mutans bacteria grown on an agar medium, and the water red betel leaf decoction is used in different concentrations. To measure the inhibition of growth of a bacterium that is using a ruler (mm) by looking at the bright zone (clear zone) as free areas by bacteria. Data analysis method used is descriptive quantitative.The results showed the water decoction of red betel leaf has a concentration of 5% inhibition of 9.2 mm, red betel leaves boiled water with a concentration of 10% has the inhibition of 7.77mm, red betel leaves boiled water with a concentration of 15% has the power inhibition of 7.073mm, red betel leaves boiled water with a concentration of 20% has the inhibition of 10.105mm. The conclusion from this study is the difference in concentration of the cooking water red betel leaf have the effect of inhibition on the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria. In this research needs to be done further research in order to benefit from the water red betel leaf has more influence on oral health. Teh merupakan suatu produk herbal yang memiliki kemampuan meningkatkan pH saliva dan memiliki efek antibakteri. Teh memiliki efek antibakteri dan antikariogenik yang dapat menurunkan keasaman saliva dan plak sehingga efektif dalam mencegah karies. Hampir sebagian dari ibu PKK mempunyai kerusakan gigi yang sedang. Setiap harinya mereka mengonsumsi teh baik itu teh celup maupun teh tubruk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan perubahan berkumur teh celup dan teh tubruk terhadap pH saliva. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Eksperimen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasi Eksperiment atau sering disebut eksperimen semu yaitu suatu penelitian dengan adanya suatu perlakuan terhadap kelompok sampel tetapi tidak ada kelompok kontrol (semua kelompok sampel mendapatkan perlakuan). Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelompok subjek yaitu pretest dan posttest. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 24 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah total sampling yaitu seluruh populasi digunakan sebagai sampel. Analisa data yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perubahan pH saliva sebelum dan sesudah berkumur teh celup dan teh tubruk yaitu sebelum berkumur teh celup menunjukkan rata-rata pH saliva 6,6, sesudah berkumur teh celup menunjukkan rata-rata pH saliva 7,6 dengan selisih 1,0 dan sebelum berkumur teh tubruk rata-rata pH saliva yaitu 6,8, sesudah berkumur teh tubruk rata-rata pH saliva yaitu 7,4 dengan selisih 0,6. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa berkumur teh celup dapat meningkatkan pH saliva lebih tinggi daripada teh tubruk, sehingga disarankan untuk berkumur / mengonsumsi teh tubruk agar dapat menanggulangi peningkatan pH saliva yang tinggi.
