This article aims to explore information about Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) incredibly Modern related to Postmodernism. The traditionalism of Pesantren in the early days is considered to have changed with modernism. The answer to the influence of Postmodernism to be found by the method of description-comparison-interpretation of the data obtained. The discussion shows that the effect of the movement of thought is only the lexical meaning of renewal. As for Pesantren's principles, characteristics, or fundamental values remains valid and become an institution that becomes a tradition in the body of Islamic Education thinking. It can also be said that the better (al-ashlah) taken by him and keeping the good (al-shâlih), means is his traditions. A tradition that is considered similar to other thought movements is Pesantren's dynamic attitude. Similarly, Waqf is the basis of ownership in Pesantren which replaces the Foundation system. It is not a new item, so its value remains in the Islamic tradition. Thus it can be understood that Pesantren continues to return to the rule of existing Islamic educational institutions, which aims to give the life of the world and the hereafter to everyone related to it.
Management of forming muslim behavior according to Islamic education studies is accrued; first, concept , that educations should looked forward to the second Human Values, physically or non, body, soul, desire, hearth and mind. Second, from side of environment education should being conducted by all part around students, either, societies, state or its institution. Third, implementing, that implementing education of faith, education of science, educations of practice, education of moral and social education. forth, education should being strongly conducted to make the peoples felt closely to the Quran and remembering syahadah that the peoples promised to their God before, through knowledge and culture, learning, education, and ta’dib (morality)
Discourses on hadith in the Prophet’s time and His companions are important in initiating study ulum al-hadith. This is because one of the function of hadith as the explanatory verses of the Koran. This article will try to elaborate some approaches of library research in ulum al-hadith (1) How the companions received, memorized applied those hadith in their life. (2) Commands and prohibitions were not generalized to all companions in writing hadith. (3) The maintenance of hadits at the companions era from lost and also from mingled with Qur’an. (4) Distributed those hadith to the vast area of Islam at the time (5) All narrators of hadith to be agreed by scholars as good people and behavior. (6) there were some criteria of fairness for companions (‘adālah al-ṣaḥābah), namely, Muslims, maturity, intelligent, piety, selfrespect, avoiding him self from cases of fasiq, to be acknowledge their fairness, and free from criticism of scholars.

<p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Studi ini mengkaji pemikiran Sayyid Usman tentang etika pendidikan dalam perspektif Islam. Studi ini perlu dilakukan mengingat belum banyak studi tentang tokoh lokal dari Nusantara yang berkontribusi dalam bidang pendidikan Islam. Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian kepustakaan yang mengandalkan metode analisis isi, dan mengajukan temuan bahwa Sayyid Usman menulis sebuah karya dalam bidang etika yang berjudul Âdâb al-Insân. Kitab ini relatif kurang diteliti dalam sudut pandang pendidikan Islam. Berdasarkan telaah terhadap naskah Nusantara ini, penulisnya menegaskan bahwa pendidikan merupakan solusi utama dalam rangka memperbaiki adab orang-orang jahat dengan mengajarkan serangkaian adab yang melingkupi aspek kepribadian, sosial dan profesionalitas. Studi ini berkontribusi dalam penguatan gugusan literatur dalam bidang pendidikan Islam mengingat tidak banyak tokoh Nusantara yang dikenalkan dan dikaji di perguruan tinggi Islam.</p><p><strong>Abstract: Paedagogical Narrative from Betawi Land: Sayyid Usman’s Thoughts on Educational Ethics</strong>. This study examines Sayyid Usman’s thinking concerning the ethics of education in an Islamic perspective. This study is necessary considering the scarcity of research on local scholars who have contributed to the field of Islamic education. This article is the result of library research that relies on the method of content analysis, and proposes findings that Sayyid Usman wrote a work in the field of ethics, entitled Âdâb al-Insân. This book is relatively under-researched in the perspective of Islamic education. Based on a review of this archipelago script, the author emphasizes that education is the main solution in improving the ethics of bad people by teaching a series of âdâb which covers aspects of personality, social and professionalism. This study contributes to the strengthening of the literature in the field of Islamic education considering that there are not many Nusantara figures introduced and studied in Islamic Higher Education institutions.</p><p><strong>Kata Kunci:</strong> pendidikan, etika, Nusantara, Betawi, Sayyid Usman</p>
