A quality teacher is one who has a positive effect on student learning and development through a combination of content mastery, command of a broad set of pedagogic skills, and communications/ interpersonal skills. The perception toward the teacher's vital role in the success of learning is reasonable as, in case there is an insufficient learning facility, we do still have a hope if the teacher has standard competence to do so. At least three problems of teachers faced by Indonesia, i.e. teacher quality, teacher welfare, and teacher politicization This paper is a deductive and inductive descriptive analysis writing using secondary data from literature. A number of facts related to teachers are then analyzed qualitatively to gain comprehensive descriptive of teachers' condition in Indonesia. The teachers' quality as one of education problems is influenced by many factors. To deal with this, the authority needs to keep socializing all standards of regulations out teacher's qualification and competence, to build teachers' self-awareness to always develop their ability and skills through workshops, education qualification upgrade, and independent learning to enhance their quality of teaching. Teacher's welfare is one of motivation to boost teachers' quality and performance to improve and to better the quality of education development in Indonesia. To overcome this problem, the government should attempt to eliminate problems of big wealthy gap and injustice rights among the teachers with different wages, to increase stipend for honorary teachers who's under minimum regional payment, and to realize other teacher's allowances on time. Teacher politicization problem is unavoidable since it is realistic effect of regional autonomy practice and education decentralization policy. The teachers are used by the local ruler for their political interest. Or reversely the teachers take advantages of the political situation to get compensation or certain political benefits.
The Ministry of Education and Culture (MOEC) of Indonesia issued a policy for online learning in all schools, including provinces with limited internet facilities. This study aims to explain the readiness of elementary school teachers in the rural or remote areas in applying online learning. The method used in this study is was ex-post facto. Technology readiness is was measured based on four factors: Optimism (4 items), Innovativeness (4 items), Discomfort (4 items), and Insecurity (4 items). The Likert scale ranged from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 5 (Strongly Agree). The analysis used Two-way ANOVA and Cluster Analysis. Data from field observations were used to provide a deeper explanation of the statistical analysis. The analysis shows that three segments appear namely Explorers, Pioneers, and Laggards. The immediate implementation of the online learning has caused the Skeptics and Paranoid segments not appear. This study implies that educational policy-makers need to pay attention to the Internet access and the availability of mobile phones as constraints in online learning in rural or remote areas.
Study on the kinetics of the transesterification reaction of ketapang seeds oil (Terminalia catappa l) of methyl ester production processusing sokletation extraction have been carried out. The ketapang seeds oil had been dissolved and then the several gram of sample were solektated using petroleum benzene solvent. Extraction followed by distillation to obtain pure ketapang oil.The catalyst used in the manufacture of biodiesel is the KOH with catalyst concentration 0.5% b/b KOH / ketapang seed oil.The solvent used was methanol with molar ratio of ketapang seed oil was 6:1.The kinetics of the transesterification reaction studied by taking 50 ml samples of the three-neck flask with a time interval (10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 min) at a temperature of 30 ° C and a stirring speed of 2140 rpm.Sample is poured in the bottles that had been poured of 50 ml of water and allowed to stand in a refrigerator at a temperature of 20° C for 24 hours.Methyl esters are then separated from the glycerol and water using a separating funnel and wash using a NaSO4 in order to in the water which still contained the methyl ester.Pure methyl esters then were analyzed by GCMS to determine the content of methyl ester and HNMR to calculate the kinetics transesterification reaction of ketapang seed oil to a temperature of 30 o C.The results showed that the ideal time to process for production of methyl ester for temperature 30o C is 60 min with the kinetics of the reaction on orde 2 that are the highest graphics and the equation transesterification reaction rate ketapang seed oil into methyl ester is
Conceptually there are many definitions of quality from experts who originally came from the industrial world to be adopted in education. Various purposes of quality include customer satisfaction, conformity to specifications, and continuous improvement. Quality management is used in education through management functions such as quality planning, quality implementation, quality control and evaluation. Quality standards have been set as ideal regulations to become a quality assessment measure in education. This article aims to examine the basic concepts of quality and quality management and compare their application in Indonesia. Technical differences in the implementation of quality management through the stages in each institution still provide the same substance, namely quality management, which is always based on regulatory standards or certain theoretical concepts. These stages are linear with general management functions such as quality planning, quality implementation and quality control/ evaluation.
Penelitian ini tentang manajemen sarana prasarana di SD Inpres Umapura yang memiliki tujuan agar mengetahui mutu tahapan manajemen sarana prasarana sekolah dimulai perencanaan, pengadaan, pengaturan, penggunaan dan penghapusan. Subjek penelitian ini yakni kepala sekolah dan objek dari penelitian ini yaitu sistem manajemen sarana prasarana sekolah yang selama ini terjadi. Sumber data penelitian ini berasal dari observasi dan pencermatan dokumen terhadap situasai sarana prasarana sekolah serta wawancara terhadap kepala sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mutu perencanaan sebesar 73,6% terkategori cukup baik, mutu pengadaan sebesar 75% (cukup baik), mutu pengaturan pada angka 66,66% dalam kategori cukup baik, mutu penggunaan yakni 65,625% terkategori cukup baik serta mutu penghapusan sebesar 25% yang dikategorikan tidak baik. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk melakukan perubahan besar pada tahapan penghapusan, sementara perubahan kecil pada tahapan perencanaan, pengadaan, pengaturan dan penggunaan sarana prasarana sekolah.
