The obejctives of this research is two-fold: to describe how Indonesian language interferes the recount text written by students of SMA Negeri 1 Toma and to identify the types of Indonesian interferences in recount texts written by Students in question. The design of this research is qualitative. Data of the research were analysed using the qualitative data analysis technique of Miles et al. (2014). The data in this research were recount text written by students of SMA Negeri 1 Toma and semistructure interview taken from the students in SMA Negeri 1 Toma. Results show Indonesian language system interfered the recount texts written by students of SMA Negeri 1 Toma in that the students adopted the way of Indonesian words, phrases, and sentences are structured. The types of Indonesian interference occur in recount text written by students of SMA Negeri 1 Toma distinguished into morphological, syntactical and semantic. Therefore, it can be concluded that students adopted the way of Indonesian words, phrases, and sentences are structured because they do not master Indonesian or L2 and English or L3 most in structuring the phrases and sentences. The teaching of English to non-English speaking people should take into account the highlights of the differences between English and Indonesian linguistic system.
No one has investigated the syllable pattern of the Nias language. Thus, this study was designed to examine and describe the syllable pattern of KV in which there are consonant phonemes /mb/ and /kh/ in the South Nias language. The approach used to design this research is qualitative. The data collection method applied is the interview method with face-to-face techniques and recording and note-taking techniques. The data were analyzed using the distributional method. The novelty of this research, namely the syllable pattern of KV in which there are the phonemes /mb/ and /kh/ of the South Nias language found in the syllables of mba, mbe, mbö, mbo, mbu, mbi, kha, kho, khö, khu, and khi.
The tour guide profession has become the most essential element of the tourist sector. On the other hand, Professional tour guides must undergo extensive training. Tourism has established itself as one of the most important factors for the global community, particularly for the people of South Nias, who still preserve and present natural and cultural beauty that remains intact even in the midst of modernity, alongside changes and improvements in social, cultural, and economic factors. The presence of present tourists will, of course, generate a favorable response. Thus, to prevent this from happening, a solution is needed, namely by providing teaching or socialization in the form of training of tour guide for the next generation. The community services program organized by Warmadewa University and Nias Raya University which aim to educate and increase the interest of the younger generation regarding the preservation of the tour guide and the awareness of tourism destination, this also has a relationship with cultural and linguistic aspects. Technically, the method used in this research was qualitative research through the interview stage to find out partner problems. The source of data used in this study is primary data by conducting field observations to find out the problems faced by the students of English Language Study Program in Nias Raya University. The results showed that there was an increase in understanding the tour guides profession and being able to describe instructions or tourist attractions in practice.
