With the development of effective drugs and best health care system, vaccination and healthy life style the death rate due to infectious disease has decreased globally and is replaced by NCD (Non-Communicable Disease). Sixty medical student were selected for study as per inclusion and exclusion criteria with proper approval from institutional ethics committee and various parameter were measured. Early intervention, lifestyle modification, weight control, increasing physical activity, diet modification can prevent the progress of disease.
The World Health Organisation defines perimenopause as the period (2-8 yrs.) preceding menopause and the one year after final menses resulting from the loss of ovarian follicular activity. (1,2) It can be described as a woman goes from a state of normal cyclicity to an ultimate state of permanent hypergonadotropic hypogonadism and amenorrhoea. This study has been designed to study changes in various parameters in perimenopausal women belonging to two socioeconomic groups. All the parameter was measured before the start of the study and at the end of study. After two years it was found that there was changes in parameter in both the group, but changes in high socioeconomic.
Global population ageing is an important challenge and opportunity faced by all countries. With advances in medicine helping more people to live longer lives, the number of people over age 60 years is expected to double by 2050 and will require radical social change according to a new report released by the WHO for the international day. Present study is designed to evaluate metabolic parameter and morbidity profile in elderly people in rural coastal Andhra Pradesh; 30% of male and 31% of the female was diabetic; 26.4% of the male and 37.5% of the female was having osteoarthritis; 41.18% of the male and 37.5% of the female have acid peptic disease; 10.1% of male and 12.75% of the female have ischemic heart disease. So it is required to provide promotional, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services in an integrated manner for the elderly.

BACKGROUND Overweight and obesity are major health issues. As per WHO definition, BMI equal to or greater than 25 is overweight and BMI equal to or greater than 30 is obesity. It is associated with various metabolic physiological abnormalities like changes in insulin secretion and metabolic parameters. MATERIAL AND METHOD Forty individuals were selected for study as per inclusion and exclusion criteria and divided in two groups. All the parameters of both the groups were calculated. RESULT Fasting and postprandial insulin level was normal in overweight individuals, but it was towards higher side in obese that is 25 mIU/L and 176.48 mIU/L. Plasma glucose concentration was normal, but lipid profile was higher in both groups. CONCLUSION Overweight and obesity is now a global issue. It is associated with various physiological abnormalities leading to diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases. Present study is designed to study the effect of overweight and obesity on various parameters in coastal Andhra Pradesh, and it was found that all the parameters in both the groups were towards higher side except few.
