Tolerance in social life is a need for Indonesian citizens. However, cases of intolerance and violence in the name of religion frequently occur in socia life and might influence students at university This research aims to assess the level of religious moderation comprehension among students at UIN (Universitas Islam Negeri/State Islamic University) Suska Riau through group counseling sessions. The study utilized a quantitative approach, employing a descriptive pre-experimental Intack Group Comparison design. The findings revealed that students' understanding of a moderate attitude significantly increased after participating in group counseling on moderation, with a positive score of 97.5% and a negative score of 2.4%. The inclusion of religious moderation as a theme in group counseling positively impacted students' comprehension and attitude towards religious moderation within society. Notably, two indicators, national commitment and tolerance, exhibited the most significant improvements, with respective increases of 35% and 29%. These results suggest that employing group counseling centered around religious moderation can serve as a model for enhancing students' understanding of religious moderation in society.
This research is motivated by the mental inadequacies of students who can hinder the goals of education and teaching in the school environment. Therefore, mental health guidance is needed through religious formation. Based on these phenomena, this study aims: 1) to find out the efforts made by teachers in developing religious and mental health of students in MAN Indragiri Hilir; and 2) to analyze the presence or absence of the influence of religious guidance on the mental health of students in MAN Indragiri Hilir. The research method used was a quantitative study conducted on 56 students. Data collected through observation, interviews and questionnaires. After the data is collected completely, a data analysis is done using a simple linear regression test with the help of SPSS version 23.00 for Windows. The results obtained from this study include: 1) religious guidance conducted by teachers in mentally developing students, including: habituation of Dhuha prayer, Dhuhr prayer in congregation, reading Asmaul Husna and giving Jariyah every Friday in each class. While activities outside of effective learning hours include social service and apostolic assembly; and 2) there is an influence of religious guidance on the mental health of students by 53.7% on mental health in MAN 2 Indragiri Hilir
This study aims to determine the basic assumptions of scientific philosophy in guidance and counseling. The method of this research is qualitative with a library study approach. that library or library study can be defined as a series of activities related to library data collection methods, reading and recording and processing research materials. The results of the study indicate that philosophy is a science whose material object includes and provides an understanding of the nature of man and various problems in it to achieve the welfare of life, in counseling guidance or philosophy of science requires assumptions, namely the basis of science so that it can produce various sources of other sciences through rationalism, empirical, critical and intuition. The basic assumptions of philosophy in the study of counseling guidance belong to ontology, which discusses the nature of what exists. As the basis of guidance and counseling, it means that philosophy provides a foundation for guidance and counseling to stand on.
