This paper deals with the study of bulk queueing model with the fixed batch size 'b' and customers arrive to the system with Poisson fashion with the rate λ and are severed exponentially with the rate μ. On formulating the mathematical model, we obtain the expressions for mean waiting time in the queue, mean time spent in the system, mean number of customers/work pieces in the queue and in the system by using generating function method. Some numerical illustrations are also obtained by using MATLAB-7 so as to show the applicability of the model under study.
This paper deals with the study of Erlangian queueing system with time dependent framework. Under our study we fnd (i) the expected number of customers in the queue (ii) the expected waiting time before being served (iii) the expected time spent in the system (iv) the expected number of customers in the system. Customers arrive in the system in Poisson fashion with rate and served in arbitrary service time distribution with rate µ.The probability generating function technique and Laplace transform method have been used. The numerical computation has also been obtained for applicability of the model. Journal of the Institute of Engineering, 2015, 11(1): 165-171
This paper deals with the study of multi-server queueing model in a fuzzy environment with imposition of reneging of customers. Entry of the customers in the system is assumed to be Poisson process and exponential service time distribution under first-come-first-served basis. Specific of this investigation is to derive the various fuzzy performance measures such as fuzzy queue length, fuzzy waiting time in queue, fuzzy response time and fuzzy optimal number of servers in explicit form for the finite capacity multi-server queueing system by using recursive method. For the validity of the model we have obtained the numerical illustrations in tabular form which shows that fuzzy-queue can be more realistic than crisp queue.
This paper deals with the study of M (t)/M/1 queueing system with customers arrive to the system with sinusoidal arrival rate function λ (t) and are served exponentially with the rate . On formulating the mathematical model, we obtain the expressions for mean waiting time in the queue, mean time spent in the system, mean number of customers in the queue and in the system by using recursive method. Some numerical illustrations are also obtained by using computing software so as to show the applicability of the model under study.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
