where she holds the Conn Chair, directs the Gifted Children Center, the Center for Creativity, Innovation and Leadership, and co-ordinates teacher training in gifted Education.Dr Sisk served as Director of the U.S. Office of Gifted and Talented, playing an instrumental role in increasing the cadre of professionally trained consultants for the gifted, thereby expanding opportunities for gifted students. She served as President, Vice-President and Executive Administrator of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children (WCGTC), and President of The Association for Gifted ( TAG ) and the American Creativity Association (ACA). She has also served as editor of the Gifted International journal. Dr Sisk is the author of Creative Teaching of Gifted Students.
Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) applications have become a vital part for MICE industry. MICE higher education is expected to provide their graduates with essential management knowledge and ICTs operational skills to meet the industry demands on the rise. This empirical study investigates the perceptions of employability skills for MICE management in the context of ICTs. Based on the questionnaire (n = 95), an initial 16 employability skills are proposed and the underlying dimensions are explored. The skills of communication, innovation, organizing and coordinating, market promotion, planning, project implementing, crisis management, proficiency in English and operation management are perceived as of great importance. Four categories of employability skills are analysed: Core Generic skills (CGS), Communicative Expression Skills (CES), Practical Hands-on Skills (PHS) and MICE Professional Skills (MPS). This study is crucial as it helps to identify the level of importance and dimension of employability skills for MICE management. For both academia and industry, the results of this study are useful to provide critical skills for multi-skilled and competitive employees for their future success.
She has also authored tests for identifying creativity, interests and underachievement. As a spokesperson for gifted children, Dr. Rimm has appeared in several talk shows including the Oprah Winfrey Show, ABC's 20/20 and NBC's Today show, and was the host of Family Talk with Sylvia Rimm on public radio for many years. She currently directs Family Achievement Clinic, Inc in Cleveland, Ohio and is clinical professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, where she has taught courses in the principles of parenting and the psychology of the gifted. In this interview, she discusses her current work and the general field of gifted underachievement and current concerns.

She has extensive experience in leading workshops and seminars for educators in many topics such as integrating critical thinking into instruction, the affective elements and aspects of thinking and the process of Socratic questioning. She presently coauthors a quarterly column on critical thinking in the Journal of Developmental Education.
