21st century learning demands the integration of Information and CommunicationTechnology (ICT) in teaching and learning process. Regarding this issue, this research isaimed at investigating English as a foreign language (EFL) teacher’s belief and practices onthe integration of ICT in English language teaching. To reach the objective, a case study onan individual teacher was used in this research. The participant was purposively andtheoretically selected because she was considered as the informant who could givesufficient information to answer the research questions. Teacher’s interview and classroomobservation were used as the data collecting techniques. Iterative data collection andanalysis were conducted continuously till theoretical pattern of concepts and categorieswere achieved. The Substitution Augmentation Modification Redefinition (SAMR) modelwas used as the data analysis tool resulted from the classroom observation to reveal to whatextent the teacher implements ICT integration. The results of this research indicate that theteacher believes that integrating ICT is very important as ICT has ability to maketransformation of all educational aspects by making use of it to reachinstructional objectives then the quality of teaching and learning will improve. Theresults also indicate that there is no discrepancy between belief and practice as the teacherhas been integrating ICT in the classroom. However, the teacher is still on the substitutionand augmentation stages in integrating ICT and hardly achieves modification and redefinitionstages. These results suggest that teachers be prepared for ICT integration to create moremeaningful learning in the classroom.
This research aimed to develop a model for an interactive media on Japanese learning and to examine its impact on student ability for remembering Japanese language vocabulary. Different from other methods, this media was user friendly for students who want to learn independently. Further, this interactive media was technology-based and equipped by some features. To confirm the performance of this media, the study was completed with pre-experimental method, one group pretest-posttest design, and questionnaires. The research subjects were tens senior high school students (class X and XI) of national vocational school in Indonesia (i.e. SMK Negeri 1 Cimahi) who take Japanese language as an elective subject. The results of pretest and posttest showed that the use of this interactive media improved student ability on understanding and using Japanese language vocabulary. The questionnaires showed positive responses from students. The media was attractive, easy to be used, and useful for remembering Japanese language vocabulary.
Porosity, permeability, and fluid saturation (gas, oil, water) are three important physical properties of rocks, especially in oil and gas reservoirs (oil and gas) which are carried out in core rock analysis. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between porosity, permeability, and oil saturation in limestone (limestone) from a horizontal plug core sample to a vertical core plug sample, to be associated with its distribution vertically and horizontally (laterally). The research method used is a Lab Test conducted at the Routine Core Analysis (RCAL) Laboratory at PPTMBG "Lemigas" Jakarta, and graphical analysis of the measurement results. The core plug samples used were 21 (twenty one) which were taken horizontally and 10 were taken vertically, which has been described, from conventional core samples from limestone reservoirs. The results of his research are that the porosity values of the vertical and horizontal samples of limestone have an indistinguishable trend, while limestones without chalky have a deeper trend, the porosity is greater, while porosity with chalky has a scatter trend, this indicates that the porosity of limestones is higher. influenced by lithological conditions or depending on the facies and the time of diagenesis, not depending on the depth (as in the case of sandstone). The value of oil saturation in the vertical and horizontal samples has a distribution that can be said to not show a certain trend or scatter. The relationship between porosity and permeability is exponentially proportional, regardless of depth and vertical or horizontal core sampling position. The value of porosity and permeability of limestone with the presence of chalky is more dominant, significantly increasing the value of porosity and permeability compared to that without the presence of chalky.
Abstract-The background of this research is the employees' low performance, it marked by the revelation assessment result of employees' performance, especially in human resources sector. This phenomenon should soon be dealt with, because employees are one of the factors that can determine the success of a company. Situational leadership and work environment made a way to improve performance. This study aims to (1) find out the description of situational leadership , (2) find out the description of work environment, (3) find out the description of employees' performance, (4) find out the situational leadership effect on employees' performance, (5) find out the work environment effect on employees' performance, (6)
The use of appropriate technique in order to achieve the goal of teaching and learning English takes the important role in English language teaching. Young learner as the basic of education is one of objects in education. It needs an appropriate approach to teaching English for young learners. One of appropriate approaches is theme-based approach. It is an approach of organizing teaching around themes or topics making it possible to integrate instruction across core areas such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This study aims to find out the use of theme-based approach to teach English vocabulary for young learners in English club of Nur Hidayah Elementary Islamic School Surakarta. Besides, it also to investigate students' responses toward theme based approach applied in teaching English vocabulary. Data collected from a survey conducted on 24 students of English Club in Nur Hidayah Islamic Elementary School. The technique of collecting the data used observation, interview, and documentary. The data summarized on the usefulness of theme-based approach in teaching English vocabulary. The result of the study showed that the use of theme-based approach is important used by the teacher to get student understanding in learning vocabulary. Furthermore, the teacher should provide various activities maintained student's interest during the lesson.
