The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a significant economic crisis. Production activities have stopped, people’s purchasing power has decreased, and the fall in the stock market has led to uncertainty. MSMEs need to maintain business continuity during a pandemic to exist after the pandemic is over. The purpose of this research was to analyze the impact of COVID-19 on MSMEs and to suggest several strategies to maintain business continuity. Qualitative research methods and a thematic analysis approach were used to examine themes and patterns. Most interview participants said they had been strongly affected by this pandemic. Several entrepreneurs assessed how the emerging needs which related to the COVID-19 business crisis could affect their business and how to take appropriate action. Abstrak: Desa gajahrejo merupakan salah satu desa di pesisir pantai malang selatan yang memiliki sumber daya alam buah kelapa yang melimpah. Dengan kondisi demografis tersebut menjadikan buah kelapa sebagai komoditas utama desa Gajahrejo. Olahan buah kelapa yang memiliki nilai tinggi yaitu dengan pengolahan buah kelapa menjadi minyak kelapa murni (virgin coconut oil). Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) adalah minyak yang bisa didapatkan dari ekstraksi yang diambil dari buah kelapa segar yang diproses dengan berbagai metode. Proses pengolahan buah kelapa menjadi VCO dapat dilakukan dengan cara tradisional maupun menggunakan teknologi alat. Diharapkan dengan adanya informasi terkait pengolahan VCO dapat meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat sekitar desa Gajahrejo. Solusi yang diusulkan yaitu solusi segi produksi dan manajemen usaha. Target kegiatan ini adalah tercapainya kelompok usaha Bersama (KUB) yang mampu menghasilkan produk secara mandiri dan penggunaan alat teknologi tepat guna (TTG) berupa mesin sentrifugal VCO yang dapat mempercepat proses pemisahan antara VCO, santan kental (blondo), dan air. Dengan pemanfaatan mesin sentrifugal VCO didapatkan hasil yaitu adanya pemangkasan waktu dalam proses fermentasi yang awalnya memakan waktu 24 jam, saat ini menjadi 12 jam. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan ekonomi kerakyatan desa gajahrejo dan meningkatkan nilai gula buah kelapa yang ada di desa gajahrejo. Abstract: Gajahrejo village is one of the villages on the southern coast of Malang which has abundant natural resources of coconuts. With these demographic conditions, coconuts are the main commodity in Gajahrejo village. The processed coconuts have a high value by processing it into Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). VCO is an oil that can be obtained from extraction taken from fresh coconuts which are processed by various methods. The whole process can be finished in the traditional way or using tool technology. It is hoped that the information related to VCO processing can increase the income of the community around Gajahrejo village. The proposed solution is in terms of production and business management. The target of this activity is the achievement of a Joint Business Group (KUB) that is able to produce products independently and the use of appropriate technology tools (TTG) in the form of a VCO centrifugal machine that can accelerate the separation process between VCO, coconut milk (blondo), and water. By utilizing the VCO centrifugal machine, the result is that there is a reduction in the time in the fermentation process which initially took 24 hours, now it is 12 hours. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the people's economy in Gajahrejo village and increase the value of coconut sugar in Gajahrejo village.
Competitive advantage is a determining factor for a firm's succession and responds to global business competition. During COVID-19, MSMEs need to sustain good internal business factors and the government and external stakeholders' role in creating clear policies and guidelines. This study aims to identify and analyse the influence of internal and external environmental factors on Indonesian MSMEs' competitive advantage in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The conclusive design used for testing the hypotheses and analyse the relationship among variables. The descriptive quantitative research approach used, which are the phenomena and the problems clearly stated. In this research, Respondents are Indonesia Entrepreneurs ruin business in the seven largest contributors' sectors for Indonesian Gross Domestic Bruto. The findings contribute to a better understanding of competitive advantage for business sustainability during COVID-19 demonstrates the necessity to know and evaluate which factors have influenced the competitive advantage for business sustainability.
