The purpose of this study is to compare speed, agility, anaerobic strength and some anthropometric characteristics in male football and futsal players. The sample of the study is composed of male futsal team players of Aydın Adnan Menderes University (19-24 aged) (n=12) and Aydın Merkez Yeniköy Football Club players (19-24 aged) (n=12). Within the scope of the study, the following techniques were applied: 30-meter speed test for determining speeds of the players, Illinois agility test for determining agility of the players, Sargent jump test for determining anaerobic strengths of the players, height weight measurement and body-mass index (B.M.I) for determining anthropometric characteristics of the players. The players were informed of the test protocols before the tests and they were voluntary for attending the study. The players attending the research did not experience any injury problem for the last 8 months and none of the players experienced any injury problem during the tests.Statistical analysis of the tests was conducted by using independent sample t-test in SPSS 20.00 program. After the tests, it was found that there was a significant difference in favor of futsal players in speeds of male futsal and football players and there was a significant difference in favor of football player in anaerobic strengths (p<0,05) while there was not any significant difference statistically in agility test (p>0,05). As a result, there was significant difference among values regarding speed, anaerobic strength and anthropometric characteristics of male futsal and football players while there was not a significant difference in agility values.
Long-term regular exercise is associated with physiologic and morphologic alterations in the heart chambers. The aim of this study to evaluate left atrium (LA) phasic functions in professional football players and compare with control subjects. Left atrial volume was calculated at end-systole (Vmax), end-diastole and pre-atrial contraction by echocardiography in 20 professional male football players (mean age, 20.15+2.11 years) and 20 male control subjects (mean age, 22.3+1.49 years). Echocardiographic assessments were performed were performed using the criteria of the American Society of Echocardiography. The following LAVs were measured: maximal volume (Vmax), minimal volume (Vmin) and LAV before atrial contraction (VpreA) at the onset of the P wave of the simultaneously recorded ECG. Left atrial ejection fraction (LAEF), expansion index (LAEI), active emptying volume index (LAAEVI) and fraction(LAAEFr), passive emptying volume index (LAPEVI) and fraction (LAPEFr) were calculated. Baseline characteristics, demographics, two dimensional and tissue Doppler echocardiographic parameters were not statistically significant between the groups (Table 1). Both groups were similar in terms of Vmax index but Vmin index and VpreA index were significantly higher in football players. LAEF, LAEI, LAAEVI and LAAEFr were lesser in football player but they were not statistically significant. Also LAPEVI and LAPEFr were similar in both groups (Table 2). Professional football playing can be associated with morphologic alteration in left atrium mechanical functions. Further prospective, randomized, controlled trials with long term follow-up are necessary to make more robust interpretations of this issue.
In our study, it is aimed to examine the nutrition knowledge levels and nutrition habits of the students, attending at Province National Education Schools attending High School and equivalent classes, who are doing active sports and not doing. In our study %69.7 is female (n=184), %30.3 is male (n=80) of the students attending our study who are studying at Adana Girl Highschool Saricam Sports Highschool, Ismail Kulak Anatolian Highschool, Saricam Social Sciences Highschool, Seyhan Ismet Inonu Girl Technical and Vocational Highschool. The height average of the students is found as 164.87 ±14.15. The body weight average of the attendants is found as 57.75 ±12.95. BMI is found as 20.72 ±3.11. It is found that the age average of the mothers attending at study 41.79 ±5.83, the age average of father is 46.57±6.16. It is found that the average hours of watching TV of the attendants in week days 2.7±3.25, watching TV at weekends is 3.89±3.01. The average hours of starting of the computer on of the attendants in weekdays 1.06±1.83, starting of the computer on at the weekends is 1.93±3.04. .In the study the method of survey is applied. In the survey it is basically questioned that the questions according to determine physical knowledges, health conditions and nutrition levels. In the datas gathered from the survey frequency analayse and T test is applied in SPSS programme. As a result: the basis of living healty is the movement and nutrition. We are in the thought of no matter how earlier it is started to teach the 15-18 age group children about the nutrition knowledge levels and habits together with movement education, the more it will have contribution to the public health.
