This study investigates the representation of the environmental, ecological, and climate change issue in the Indonesian President’s Joko Widodo statement at the COP21, 2015. The data was taken from the transcript published by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry's official website. It is selected according to the popularity of the President and to learn about his ecological view based on the way he represented the country's ecological issue at the global event. The analysis was carried out within an eco-critical discourse analysis framework, which started by investigating the ideology using Fairclough's three-dimensional model. Then, the ideology was judged using the ecolinguistics perspectives proposed by Stibbe (2015a, 2020). The result shows that President Joko Widodo’s ecological-ideology can be regarded as 'prosaic: environmental problem solving', of which this study concludes that his speech can be defined as a 'beneficial discourse' that has to be promoted widely to raise the awareness of language use regarding an environmental issue.
Tulisan ini mengangkat aktualisasi diri tokoh sastra dalam peranannya membentuk moral manusia Sunda. Tokoh sastra adalah refleksi berbagai struktur sosial, begitu pun dengan tokoh sastra Sunda yang bisa membiaskan kebenaran universal tentang sifat, sikap, karakter, dan kepribadian manusia Sunda pada tataran realitas. Karya sastra yang dianalisis adalah sample dari karya sastra Sunda dari tiga periode, yaitu: Periode Sastra Sunda Kuno atau Lama (Buhun), Periode Sastra Sunda Pertengahan (Bihari), dan Periode Sastra Sunda Modern atau Baru (Kiwari). Pada akhirnya, sistem nilai yang muncul dari kompleksitas aktivitas dipengaruhi oleh perubahan jaman dan bergantinya kekuasaan. AbstractThis paper raised the self-actualization literary gure in the role of moral human form Sunda. Various literary gures are a reection of social structure, as was the literary figures that can refract universal truths about the nature, attitude, character, and personality Sunda at the level of reality. Literary works are analyzed samples of literary works from three periods, namely: Ancient Sundanese Literary Period or Old (Buhun), Sunda Literature Medieval Period (Bihari), and Sundanese Modern Literary Period or New (Kiwari). In the end, the value systems that arise from the complexity of the activity is inuenced by the change of time and the alternation of power.
Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah tradisi nyalin sudah mulai ditinggalkan oleh masyarakat pendukungnya dan belum terungkapnya niali-nilai kebaikan dalam tradisi nyalin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan (1) struktur (teks dan ko-teks) dan fungsi (konteks) tradisi nyalin dalam kehidupan masyarakat Sunda, (2) ciri kelisanan yang tampak dalam tradisi nyalin dalam kehidupan masyarakat Sunda, (3) nilai etnopedagogik dalam tradisi nyalin dalam kehidupan masyarakat Sunda. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah paradigma kualitatif dalam kajian tradisi lisan. Hasil penelitiannya, yaitu (1) struktur tradisi nyalin yang mencakup tahapan tradisi nyalin, tatahar ngawengku gempungan, kukumpul, majang, jeung riungan, ngukusan, sanduk-sanduk, mitembeyan mipit paré, dan ngaarwahan. Unsur-unsur tradisi nyalin mencakup nama kegiatan, pelaku kegiatan, barang-barang dalam kegiatan, makanan dalam kegiatan, gerakan, tempat berlangsungnya kegiatan, dan waktu berlangsungnya. Teks dalam tradisi nyalin adalah kapamalian, dongeng, mantra, diksi dan ungkapan. Fungsi tradisi nyalin sebagai (1) wujud rasa sukur pada Tuhan atas hasil panen yang didapat, (2) ciri kelisanan dalam tradisi nyalin, yaitu pemikiran lisan, ekspresi lisan, dan naratif lisan, 3) nilai etnopedagogik dalam tradisi nyalin, yaitu (1) pandangan hidup manusia dengan dirinya, (2) pandangan hidup manusia dalam lingkungan masyarakat, (3) pandangan hidup manusia dengan alam, (4) pandangan hidup manusa dengan Tuhan, (5) manusia dalam mengejar kemajuan lahir dan kebahagiaan batin. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini, setelah diteliti secara struktur dan etnopedagogik memiliki nilai-niali luhur yang sudah ada di masyarakat sekaligus bisa dimanfaatkan sebagai teladan dalam bidang pendidikan formal dan kehidupan masyarakat umum.AbstractThe background of this research is Nyalin tradition that has begun to be abandoned by the society and the values in Nyalin traditions that have not been revealed yet. The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the structure (text and co-text) and the function (context) of the nyalin tradition in the Sundanese life, (2) the visible oral features of the tradition in the Sundanese life, (3) the ethnopedagogic value in Nyalin tradition in the Sundanese society’s life. The research method used is a qualitative paradigm in the study of oral tradition. The results of his research are the structure of nyalin tradition includes its stages i.e. tatahar ngawengku gempungan, kukumpul, majang, riungan, ngukusan, sanduk-sanduk, mitembeyan mipit paré, and ngaarwahan. Elements of Nyalin tradition include the name of the activity, the performer, the goods, the food, the movement, the place, and the time it takes place. The texts in Nyalin tradition are kapamalian, dongeng, mantra, diction and idiom. The functions of Nyalin tradition are (1) a form of gratefulness to God over the results of harvesting, (2) the verbal characteristic of Nyalin tradition i.e.oral thought, oral expression, and oral narrative, 3) ethnopedagogic values in Nyalin tradition i.e.(1) the perspective of human life with themselves (2) the perspective of human life in the society, (3) the perspective of human life with nature, (4) the perspective of human life with God, (5) the effort of human to reach physical and spiritual satisfaction. The conclusion of this study, after being structurally studied by using ethno pedagogic approach, Nyalin tradition has noble values that already exist in the community that can be used as an example in the field of formal education and public life.
There is a presumption that Sundanese people leadership is weak and feeble so they can not compete on the national level. Though history recorded some names of Sundanese leaders, such as Prabu Wangi, Prabu Niskala Wastu Kanca, and Sri Baduga Maharaja. In the literature, the name of King Siliwangi is an icon and symbol of the great and successful Sundanese leader of all time. The identity and symbolism of the Sundanese leader are also reflected in the historical novel of Tanjeur na Juritan Jaya di Buana written by Yoseph Iskandar. Uniquely, the novel relies on the manuscript of Prince Wangsakerta from Cirebon which in the 1980s appalled Indonesia history. The novel has been awarded Rancage from Ajip Rosidi's Rancage Foundation. By using descriptive method and literature review technique and interpretation, the novel will be examined his leadership ethics in ethno pedagogic scope. The aims of this study are: (a) to describe the principles of Sundanese leadership in the novel, (b) to describe the etnopedagogical aspect in the novel, and (c) to compare the leadership principles of the past and the present as models of cultural education. The expected outcomes are the descriptions of figures of Sundanese leadership, Sundanese leadership manners, and the cultural education model found in the novel analyzed.AbstrakAda anggapan bahwa kepemimpinan Sunda lemah sehingga tidak dapat bersaing di panggung nasional. Padahal sejarah mencatat sejumlah nama pemimpin panutan Sunda, misalnya saja Prabu Wangi, Prabu Niskala Wastu kancana, dan Sri Baduga Maharaja. Dalam tataran sastra nama Prabu Siliwangi merupakan ikonitas dan simbolitas pemimpin Sunda yang besar dan berhasil sepanjang masa. Ikonitas dan simbolitas pemimpin Sunda tergambar juga dalam novel sejarah Tanjeur na Juritan Jaya di Buana yang ditulis oleh Yoseph Iskandar. Unik dan utamanya, novel tersebut bersandar pada naskah Pangeran Wangsakerta dari Cirebon yang tahun 1980-an menggemparkan jagat kesejarahan Indonesia. Novel tersebut telah mendapat hadiah Rancage dari Yayasan Rancage Ajip Rosidi. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif dan teknik telaah pustaka dan interprerasi, novel tersebut akan dikaji tatakrama kepemimpinannya dalam lingkup etnopedagogik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: (a) mendeskripsikan tatakrama kepemimpinan Sunda dalam novel, (b) mendeskripsikan aspek etnopedagogik dalam novel, dan (c) membandingkan tatakrama kepemimpinan masa lalu dan masa sekarang sebagai model pendidikan budaya. Hasil yang diharapkan adalah terdeskripsikannya tokoh-tokoh dalam kepemimpinan Sunda, tatakrama kepemimpinan Sunda, dan model pendidikan budaya dari novel yang dianalisis.
