AbstractThe shared responsibility for the product life cycle is the set of individualized and chained allocations of manufacturers, importers, distributors, traders, consumers and holders of public services of urban cleaning and solid waste management, to minimize the volume of solid waste, reducing impacts to human health and environmental quality resulting from the product life cycle. In view of the increasing consumption that has been occurring, the volume of raw material and concern for the environment require the organizations to restructure their logistics systems, as well as establishing guidelines and strategies aimed at environmental preservation. In this study, we intend to demonstrate the significant and positive importance of reverse logistics, in the context of conservationist business measures and their relationship with economic, social and environmental aspects, so that it effectively completes the respective cycle. The methodology used is qualitative quantitative, based on a bibliographical review in books and technical-scientific articles that deal with the subject. By the year 2020, it was estimated that more than 1,249.41 tons of waste of Brazilian electrical and electronic equipment was produced, highlighting the need for society and organizations to take action on sustainability.
