Counseling services that are effective and on target are needed by counselors. Ideally, counselors should have insight, and skills in implementing creative and innovative counseling techniques. There are still counselors who have minimal knowledge and skills regarding counseling techniques. One of them is the assertiveness training technique in the group format, which is one of the recommended behavior counseling techniques to improve individual interpersonal competence. The steps for implementing assertiveness training are (1) rational strategy, (2) identification of situations that cause problems, (3) exploration, (4) role-playing, giving feedback, and better behavioral models. (5) carry out exercises and practice, (6) repeat the exercises, (7) do homework and follow-up, and (8) terminate. This implementation shows that group format assertiveness training can be implemented in counseling services to alleviate problems and improve individual interpersonal skills. ABSTRACT. Asam sunti is a popular traditional product commonly used as a condiment in Aceh. It is a fermented and popular product, wich has an important economic role in Aceh rural community. However, this traditional dried condiment is mostly poor in appearance, calour and keeping qualities. The research is aimed to study curing, drying and fermentation processes for improvement of quality and shelf life of the product. The result indicated that curing by salting prior drying was better than traditional curing by salting after drying. Likewise mechanical drying was also better than traditional sun drying. Both better processes could improve calour, lower mouisture content, lessen sournes and improve shelf life. The chemical composition of the fresh fruits with pH at 2.44 and mouisture content 70.16% in asam sunti with PH at 1.72. Bacterial plate count of the treated as well as the traditional product (as control) revealed very stable product and no bacterial content, wich account of very low PH (1.7) and water activity (0.70 – 087) condition for bacterial growth.

This study aims to determine the application of group guidance services to develop colage student interpersonal communication in STAI MAARIF JAMBI study program BKPI. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data obtained from interviews, observations and documentation sourced from students of the BKPI Study Program STAI MAARIF JAMBI. The collected data is followed up with data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions. Group guidance service is one of the services that exist in counseling guidance services, where group guidance services aim to train students to dare to express their opinions, train to convey solutions, practice critical thinking. Group guidance services are expected to be able to improve students' skills in good communication.

The majority of students' learning skills are at the medium level. Learning skills is one of the many skills that needto be trained and mastered by students in order to be able to have satisfactory academic results. One factor that influences learning skills is learning attitude and behavior. This study aims to examine the first year Counseling students’ learning skills condition in State University of Padang. Learning skills explored in this study are skills in reading, writing, memorizing, test taking and using technology. The population of the study is all first-year students majoring in Counseling. The sampling technique is a random sampling. The study sample is 44 students. Data were analyzed using a descriptive analysis. The results show that the majority of students' learning skills is below high category, which is 88,63%. Most of the students' learning skills need to be improved in listening, reading and test-taking skills and they have some weaknesses in learning skills in using technology, memorizing and writing.

The Indo-Pacific is recognized as a hotspot for marine diversity. The taxonomy of certain taxa, such as Discomedusae jellyfish, has been neglected, despite its importance in the fishery industry. This study documents the first records of Discomedusae for the Java Sea using an integrative approach and provide notes about its distribution in the area. We used up to 53 morphological and meristic characters and amplified one mitochondrial marker (COI). The comparison and assessment of these data resulted in the recognition of seven species of Discomedusae, from which five has been recorded for the Indo-Pacific area. Two other species require a taxonomic revision to confirm the species assignation. The distribution of jellyfish in the coast of Java Sea might be correlated with the jellyfish life history and species-specific ranges of tolerance, and not solely determined by the environmental parameters. These findings provide the foundations for extending the taxonomic research in the area; the description of the biodiversity will increase the understanding of the population dynamics and its implications in the fisheries.
