The rapid development in Bandar Lampung resulted in the expansion of residential areas and the reduction of green areas as water-retribuid areas. Flash floods have become a common problem in Bandar Lampung during the rainy season since several decade. To reduce the problem of flash floods that are being faced by the people of Bandar Lampung, especially at RT. 005, Jagabaya II Village, Way Halim district, Bandar Lampung city during the rainy season, a PKM team from Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia has socialized about porous drainage. Porous drainage is one of the environmentally friendly drainage methods that is also functioned as a rainwater retention. In addition, the PKM team also trained the people of Jagabaya II Village, Way Halim district in assembling and installing of the porous drainage as an effort to make them as a pilot community that contributes to flood prevention occurred in Bandar Lampung city. Within three days, eight retention points of porous drainage have been installed in flood-prone areas in Jagabaya's II Village. The activities of increasing public knowledge about porous drainage are well done while the people of Jagabaya II Village look enthusiastic and wish more counseling activities to be continued with other topics related to drainage and flood management. Besides, the leader and people of Jagabaya II Village expect ongoing activities such as maximizing the retention points of porous drainage because eight points has not been enough to reduce large volume of flooding in their environment. The community wish that by installing more retention points of porous drainage, it will be able to reduce large volume of flooding that often occurs in their environment, especially during heavy rains. Bandar Lampung City is part of the major city of Lampung province. The problem that arises in Bandar Lampung City is solid waste management. The amount of solid waste in Bandar Lampung City reaches 1000 tons/day. One of the district of Bandar Lampung named Kedamaian district still uses the old method (collecting-transport-throw) in solid waste management, which causes the load of waste to accumulate in the landfill. The constraints encountered this time are the absence of sorting locations and limited land. Kedamaian district needs to develop waste treatment facilities, an approach based on Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA). The results show from the analysis that BCR in the scenario A <1 is 0.85 with NPV - Rp. 72.968.828. the activity in the existing conditions can still be carried out, but the waste reduction has not been maximized to the TPS (Container). Scenario B, NPV is Rp. 95.319.338 and BCR is 1.13, which value of BCR is >1. This indicates that a waste processing facility in the Kedamaian District is suitable to operate with TPS-3R. The results of scenario B are obtained by increasing the effectiveness of processing facilities to 100% by 2025. In 2025, with the implementation of the TPS-3R obtained, BCR is 1.20 with NPV is Rp. 218.447.621.
Sebagaimana telah diketahui bahwa seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah penduduk, maka jumlah kebutuhan akan air bersih yang harus terpenuhi juga besar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk : (1) menyelidiki besaran jumlah kebutuhan air bersih per kapita di Kota Bandar Lampung; (2) mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap kebutuhan air bersih di Kota Bandar Lampung; (3) menghitung jumlah biaya konsumsi air bersih; (4) Melakukan perbandingan hasil penelitian mengenai besaran kebutuhan air bersih dengan penelitian yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya, baik itu penelitian di negara Indonesia maupun penelitian yang berasal dari negara lain. Penelitian ini mengambil lokasi di wilayah Kota Bandar Lampung yang secara administrasi memiliki 20 kecamatan dan 126 kelurahan. Pengumpulan data kebutuhan air bersih dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuesioner pada 126 rumah tangga secara acak. Berdasar pada hasil penelitian, dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa: (1) Jumlah kebutuhan air bersih per kapita Kota Bandar Lampung adalah 130,44 ltr/org/hr. (2) Besaran jumlah kebutuhan air bersih pada Kota Bandar Lampung dipengaruhi beberapa hal sebagai berikut, yakni: jumlah anggota keluarga, status pendidikan, jenis pekerjaan, jumlah kepemilikan kendaraan, dan kemudahan mendapatkan air. (3) Biaya yang dibayarkan setiap bulannya untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan air bersih pada Kota Bandar Lampung berkisar antara Rp.127.267,00 sampai dengan Rp.187.449, 00. (4) Hasil yang didapat pada penelitian ini jauh berbeda dengan hasil pada penelitian Kindler and Russel (1984) yang menyatakan bahwa penggunaan air rata-rata untuk rumah tangga adalah sebesar 295 ltr/org/hr, namun hasil yang didapat pada penelitian ini mendekati Kriteria Perencanaan oleh Direktorat Jenderal Cipta Karya, Dinas Pekerjaan Umum Tahun 1996, yang menyatakan bahwa pada Kota Besar yang memiliki penduduk berkisar antara 500.000 jiwa – 1.000.000 jiwa, kebutuhan air domestiknya adalah 120– 150 ltr/org/hr.
