Two controllers for an automotive suspensions with Magneto-Rheological (MR) dampers are proposed. One is a model-based using the Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) approach, and the other is a model-free controller with a Frequency Estimation Based (FEB) principle. The LPV controller includes an experimental nonlinear model of an MR damper using only one scheduling parameter. A comparison with a several semiactive controllers for comfort and road holding is discussed. The FEB controller is the best option based on frequency and time response analysis for comfort (10–20%), suspension deflection (30–50%), and road holding (1–5%).
Learning Analytics is a field that measures, analyses, and reports data about students and their contexts to understand/improve learning and the place in which it occurs. Educational institutions have different motivations to use Learning Analytics. Some want to improve students' outcomes or optimize their educational technology and reduce the dropout rate and others. This concept is presented with practical experiences that have been acquired and validated by 16 institutions. Besides, an analysis of the results, challenges, and expectations was performed. It was found that the majority of initiatives use Learning Analytics to improve retention of students; few are focused merely on improving the teaching/learning process or academic issues. The organizations invest their resources in acquiring Learning Analytics software; however, most universities develop their technology. The technology helps organizations be preventive and not reactive as various models determine students at risk of failing. This information allows them to make suitable interventions, which increases the success of the initiative. CoViD19 pandemic is also put in context in this research; Learning Analytics could be a great approach to help the educational community adapt effectively to the new forms of educational delivery. Based on an exhaustive bibliographic review, various educational projects and experiences were analyzed, presenting an overview detailing applications, results, and potentialities and opportunities, hoping that this article will be a useful reference for researchers and faculty to exploit Learning Analytics education.
A simulation of the cooling of electronic devices was carried out by means of microchannels, using water as a coolant to dissipate the heat generated from a computer processor, and thus stabilize its optimum operating temperature. For the development of this study, computational fluid mechanics modeling was established in order to determine the temperature profiles, pressure profiles, and velocity behavior of the working fluid in the microchannel. In the results of the study, the operating temperatures of the computer processor were obtained, in the ranges of 303 K to 307 K, with fluid velocities in the microchannels of 5 m/s, a pressure drop of 633.7 kPa, and a factor of safety of the design of the microchannel of 15. From the results, the improvement of the heat transfer in a cooling system of electronic devices was evidenced when using a coolant as a working fluid compared to the cooling by forced air flow traditional. ABSTRAK: Simulasi penyejukan alatan elektronik telah dibina menggunakan saluran mikro, di samping air sebagai agen penyejuk bagi menghilangkan haba yang terhasil dari pemproses komputer, dan penstabil pada suhu operasi optimum. Kajian ini mengenai model komputasi mekanik bendalir bagi menentukan profil suhu, profil tekanan, dan halaju perubahan bendalir dalam saluran mikro. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan suhu operasi pemproses komputer adalah pada julat suhu 303 K sehingga 307 K, dengan halaju bendalir dalam saluran mikro adalah pada kelajuan 5 m/s, penurunan tekanan sebanyak 633.7 kPa, dan faktor keselamatan 15 bagi reka bentuk saluran mikro. Ini menunjukkan terdapat kenaikan pemindahan haba bagi sistem penyejukan alatan elektronik ini, terutama apabila cecair digunakan sebagai penyejuk haba berbanding kaedah tradisi iaitu dengan mengguna pakai aliran udara sebagai agen penyejuk.
The objective of this research was to determine the capability of design patterns to find usability issues in mobile groupware interfaces. A particular collection of patterns was used for this purpose. Patterns were obtained by identifying essential activities and collaborative tasks in the communication process among members of working groups. A previous study on said proposal suggested that design solutions offered by the patterns foster communication, collaboration, and coordination through user interface elements. This new analysis evaluated virtues of the proposal from a user interface-assessment perspective. For this purpose 6 experts on design, usability, HCI and UCD validated the heuristics, which were then applied by 12 members of an educational support group called USAER. Results suggested that proposed heuristics could provide a reliable perspective of the usability level of mobile user interfaces for groupware applications.
