The state of the nurse's workload in the emergency department needs to be known for its quantity and quality. If the number of tasks is not proportional to the ability of both physical and expertise and the time available, it will be a source of stress. The study aimed to determine the workload with work stress in nurses in the emergency room. Quantitative research with a correlation descriptive approach, with a sample of 29 respondents using a daily log study measuring instrument. The statistics test results show a workload with a p-value of 0.000. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between workload and the work stress of nurses in the emergency room. Recommendations for nurses need effective and constructive self-management so that there is a high workload and nurse work stress can be effectively controlled to not impact the quality of service.
The equipment, such as broomsticks used by street sweepers are not appropriate based on anthropometric aspects, with a potency to induce inconvenience among them. Working with equipment that is not ergonomics, in addition to non-physiological work posture can cause fatigue, musculoskeletal disorders, and increased workload. This study aims to determine whether redesign an ergonomic-based broomstick may reduce the physiological burden of street sweepers in Denpasar city, Indonesia. This research is a pure experiment using a cross-design (two-period crossover design). The sample was 16 female street sweepers, divided into two groups: 8 as the control group and 8 treatment groups. Data analysis were performed using a paired t-test with significance level of 5%. The results showed significant difference (p <0.05) on the variables of workload, musculoskeletal complaints, and fatigue. In the first period, the mean of the street sweeper working heart rate was 118.96 ± 2.26 beats per minutes (bpm), the mean musculoskeletal complaint score was 91.63 ± 2.70 and the average fatigue was 77.69 ± 2.96. In Period II, the mean heart rate was 98.49 ± 2.22 bpm, the mean musculoskeletal complaint score was 63.56 ± 2.73 and the average fatigue was 57.56 ± 2.94. Redesigned stem brooms turned out to reduce workload, musculoskeletal complaints, and fatigue by 17.21%, 30.6%, and 25.91%, respectively. It can be concluded that the redesign of an ergonomic-based broomstick can reduce workload, musculoskeletal complaints, and fatigue.
Each process and stage in processing coconut into copra has a different and unnatural work attitude and is carried out for a long time and can cause subjective fatigue symptoms and create a risky workload for copra farmer workers in the coconut husk stripping section. This study aims to determine the effect of giving short breaks on the work fatigue of kopra (coconut) farmer workers in Elusan Village. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pre-post control-group design. The sampling technique in this study is non-probability sampling using a purposive sampling technique. The samples in the study totaled 13 samples in each group. The study time is from November – December 2022. The research instrument used to assess work fatigue is from the Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC). Data analysis using SPSS v.25 with Parametric Independent T-Test. The results showed that the subjective fatigue variable in the control group showed no meaningful difference (p>0.05) with a value of t = 6.72 and a value of p = 5.08. Subjective fatigue analysis in the intervention group showed that results differed meaningfully (p<0.05) with t values = 18.44 and p values = 0.00 and difference values before and after work = 13.00 (-54.07%). This means giving short breaks can lower subjective fatigue in copra farmers. Thus, it can be concluded that the research hypothesis is accepted and there is an effect of short breaks on the work fatigue of copra farmer workers in Elusan Village Keywords: Ergonomics, Work Physiology, Subjective Fatigue, A Coconut Farmer ABSTRAK Setiap proses dan tahapan dalam pengolahan kelapa menjadi kopra ini memiliki sikap kerja yang berbeda-beda dan tidak alamiah dan dilakukan dalam waktu yang cukup lama dan dapat menyebabkan gejala kelelahan subjektif dan menimbulkan beban kerja yang beresiko bagi pekerja petani kopra bagian pengupasan sabut kelapa.
