Abstrac Depression is increasingly common in patients who experience chronic chronic conditions such as stroke, diabetes, cancer and chronic pain disorders. Many people still see diabetes only in clinical terms, but diabetes and depression can trigger each other so that patients with diabetes mellitus are at high risk of depression. This study aims to determine the level of depression in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.The design of this study was descriptive with a population of all type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic Dr. Harjono Ponorogo numbered 186. The sampling technique used was Quota Sampling. The sample of this study were all type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in Dr. Harjono Ponorogo with a total of 56 respondents. Data analysis used the HDRS questionnaire to determine the level of depression in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. From the results of the study of 56 respondents Depression Level in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients as many as 25 respondents (44.68%) experienced moderate depression, 15 respondents (26.78%) experienced mild depression and as many as 7 respondents (12.5%) experienced depression heavy, while 9 respondents (16.07%) did not experience depression. The results of the study were concluded that almost half were in medium and small parts. More weight than done in conducting research, for example, the selection of respondents must be in accordance with the type of respondents studied. For the next researcher, it is suggested to conduct research on more unique factors that can affect the level of depression.Keywords: Depression Level, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Abstrak Depresi semakin banyak terjadi pada pasien yang mengalami kondisi kronik menahun seperti stroke, diabetes, kanker serta gangguan nyeri yang kronis. Banyak orang yang masih memandang diabetes hanya dari segi klinisnya saja, namun diabetes dan depresi dapat saling memicu sehingga pendertita diabetes mellitus resiko tinggi mengalami depresi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat depresi pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2.Desain penelitian ini adalah deskripif dengan populasi seluruh pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2 di Poli Penyakit Dalam RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo berjumlah 186. Teknik sampling yang di gunakan adalah Quota Sampling. Sampel penelitian ini seluruh pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2 di RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo dengan jumlah 56 responden. Analisa data menggunakan lembar kuesioner HDRS untuk mengetahui tingkat depresi pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2.Dari hasil penelitian terhadap 56 responden Tingkat Depresi Pada Pasien Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2 sebanyak 25 responden (44,68%) mengalami depresi sedang, 15 responden (26,78%) mengalami depresi ringan dan sebanyak 7 responden (12,5%) mengalami depresi berat, sedangkan sebanyak 9 responden (16,07%) tidak mengalami depresi.Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa hampir setengahnya mengalami depresi sedang dan sebagian kecil mengalami depresi berat sehingga peneliti menyarankansupaya lebih mendetail dalam melakukan penelitian, contohnya seperti pemilihan responden harus sesuai dengan karakteristik responden yang diteliti. Bagi peneliti selanjutnya disarakan untuk melakukan penelitian tentang faktor yang lebih dominan yang dapat mempengaruhi tingkat depresi.Kata Kunci: Tingkat Depresi, Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2
