This research aims to determine the components of student motivation in learning English with blended learning in class XI students at SMK HKBP Pematangsiantar. Therefore, the formulation of the problem in this study is "The difficulties of students in learning English, lack of vocabulary and lack of time in class XI students of SMK HKBP Pematangsiantar in understanding Blended Learning? And what is the cause of this error?” To find out the answer to the problem in this study, researchers used related theories, namely Diasti, K. S. (2020), Sari I. et all, (2018), The methodology used in this research is qualitative research and the questionnaire is a data collection technique. This is used to identify and describe the level of difficulty of students in learning students' English vocabulary. The data selected in this study were all students of class XI SMK Pariwisata HKBP Pematangsiantar, totaling 29 students. After the data was collected, the researcher found that there were four types of errors in writing students' descriptive texts, namely negligence, addition, misformation and misordering and there were four types of causes, namely difficulty understanding English, inappropriate timing (running out of chasing time assigned by the teacher) Thus it can be concluded that class XI students of SMK Pariwisata HKBP Pematangsiantar do not know how to increase motivation to learn English by using blended learning. Researchers suggest that teachers play a role in motivating students to be effective when teaching in class.
Program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) adalah salah satu program yang diselenggarakan oleh Ditjen Dikti Ristek dibawah naungan Kemdikbud. Program Kampus Mengajar merupakan salah satu program cabang Merdeka Belajar . Kampus Merdeka yang memiliki tujuan untuk mengajar, membantu teknologi, dan Administrasi sekolah beserta guru. Salah satu sekolah yang menjadi sasaran dari Program Kampus Mengajar adalah SD Negeri 071169 yang terletak di Desa Ombolata, Kecamatan Alasa, Kabupaten Nias Utara, Sumatera Utara. Pada program Kampus Mengajar ini, mahasiswa yang ditunjuk untuk mengikuti program memiliki tanggung jawab membantu pihak sekolah dalam proses Mengajar , adaptasi teknologi, dan administrasi sekolah. Selain itu, mahasiswa kampus mengajar memiliki tanggung jawab dalam memperbaiki karakter siswa dan meningkatkan minat belajar siswa terutama selama masa pandemi ini. Tujuan dari keikutsertaa n mahasiswa dalam program Kampus Mengajar ini merupakan sebuah proses dalam menambah relasi, menambah pengalaman diluar dunia perkuliahan, mengembangkan wawasan, karakter dan soft skills mahasiswa, mendorong dan memacu pembangunan nasional dengan menumbuhkan motivasi siswa untuk berpartisipasi dalam pemerataan pendidikan, serta meningkatkan peran dan kontribusi nyata perguruan tinggi dan mahasiswa dalam pembangunan pendidikan di Indonesia.
COVID-19 Street banner is one of various ways and medias used for communicating and informing about the virus that contain of whether invitation, prohibition, or strategies to reduce the spread of Corona virus outbreak to society. Based on an interdisciplinary theoretical framework, this study revealed to the genaral understanding of the COVID-19 banners and how this media contribute to the overcoming of the pandemic spreading. In order to examine and explain the interpretations and influences of this media associated with the awareness and information on how to reduce the COVID-19 outbreak through the images and verbal signs of the banner, this present work analyzed COVID-19 street banner that circulated on the street and building around Medan to Binjai about COVID-19. The study employed the theories of social semiotics by using Barthes theory with descriptive visual study design approach to reveal the code and message of the banner. The result showed that those banners conveyed the similar message that doing the heath protocols are able to reduce the spreading of the virus and they have special effect on society. Government ministry and various organizations worked together to educate and encourage society about COVID-19 through street banners as their communicative strategy.
