The purpose of this study was to analyze learning motivation in mathematics learning, analyze mathematics learning and the relationship between student learning motivation and mathematics learning during the covid-19 pandemic at Hulu Sungai Selatan District High School. The type of research used is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were students and several mathematics teachers at the Hulu Sungai Selatan District High School. The samples of this study were 100 students and five teachers taken from five high schools in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. This sampling technique uses cluster random sampling/area random sampling. The results of this study are student motivation at SMAN 1 Daha Utara is in the high category with a percentage of 78.3%, student motivation at SMAN 1 Daha Barat is in the high category with a percentage of 76.5%, student motivation at SMAN 1 Kandangan is in the high category. in the high category with a percentage of 78%, student motivation at SMAN 1 Angkinang is in the high category with a percentage of 77.8%, student motivation at SMAN 1 Simpur is in the high category with a percentage of 76.3%. As for mathematics learning carried out by teachers, each teacher at school must use whatsapp as a learning medium, but there are also some teachers who use other media to help learning mathematics such as google classroom, zoom/gmeet, learning videos and power point. The relationship between students' learning motivation and mathematics learning is that the more media used by the teacher, the higher the learning motivation
This study aims to analyze the difficulties experienced by students and teachers, especially in statistical materials and offered alternative solutions. The method used in this study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The subjects in this study were 32 students of class XI IPA and a mathematics teacher at SMA ADVENT Purwodadi Malang. The results showed that the teacher had difficulty explaining the statistical material in group data. The difficulties faced by the teacher were caused by students who had difficulty in applying the group data formula. The difficulties faced by students vary, including understanding concepts (misconceptions), formulation (error in principle), modeling (fact errors), and calculation operations (operating errors). The difficulties experienced by the students resulted in the difficulty level of the questions. The problems given fall into the medium and easy criteria. An alternative solution is offered, that is, when learning for statistics material, it can use a problem-based learning model.
It is argued that mathematical literacy skills might be improved when learning motivation is high. This study aims to examine the difference in mathematical literacy skills between students who joined a learning model that stimulate motivation, the MASTER learning model (Motivating, Acquiring, Searching, Triggering, Exhibiting, and Reflecting) and those who attended conventional learning in terms of high, medium, and low learning motivation. This is a quasi-experimental study with a population of all seventh-grade students of an Islamic Junior School in South Kalimantan, Indonesia. The sample was selected using the purposive sampling technique with group VII A as the experimental class and group VII E as the control class. The instrument used was a test of students' mathematical literacy skills and a student's learning motivation questionnaire. The data were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA. The results showed that: (1) there were differences in mathematical literacy skills between students who attended the MASTER learning model and those who took conventional learning; (2) there were differences in mathematical literacy abilities between students with high, medium, and low motivation to learn, and (3) there was an interaction between the MASTER learning model and learning motivation on students' mathematical literacy abilities.
