Abstract. School anxiety is one of the situational anxiety types. The feeling of anxiety in school is unavoidable, yet the intensity of this feeling should not exceed each student’s individual “critical point”, as exceeding causes disorientation instead of mobilisation. School anxiety can be expressed in behaviour in the most various forms: from passivity in classes, unsure answers, to “super-diligence”, a wish to do everything perfectly. It is necessary to help students find effective techniques to regulate anxiety, overcome diffidence and other expressions of emotional imbalance. A set of preventive measures must be established, which will help students develop necessary skills for anxiety mitigation and gain successful anxiety overcoming experience. Educational measures regarding this issue are necessary for teachers and parents as well.

The Ukrainian-Latvian team of researchers are dedicated to commit their research to finding out parents’ views on whether school-age children experience anxiety in war-affected areas in Ukraine and ways to reduce it. The research also enables to identify the most common signs of anxiety. The data collection instrument includes a web-based questionnaire developed by researchers from Ukraine using Google Forms. All researchers are involved in sharing the developed web-based questionnaire via social media networks. The research sample includes 1346 parents of school-age children from all the parts of Ukraine, namely, Central, Eastern, Western, Northern, Southern Ukraine and Kyiv. Research findings demonstrate the urgent need to implement targeted psychological and pedagogical influences (the use of technologies, methods and techniques aimed at reducing the level of anxiety in school-aged children) in the educational process of general secondary schools, regardless of whether this process is carried out face-to-face, remotely or in a blended learning format. The conducted research makes it possible to substantiate the necessity of creating a web-based support system for educators to reduce anxiety among school-age children. The current research is carried out within the project “Web-based Support System for Educators to Reduce Children’s Anxiety in War-affected Areas” (Registration No GPK-07/2022).
The research aim was to collect feedback from educators on the website “Overcoming Stress and Anxiety Together: Teachers – Schoolchildren – Parents” created within the joint Latvian-Ukrainian project “Web-based Support System for Educators to Reduce Children’s Anxiety in War-affected Areas” (Registration No GPK-07/2022). Immediately after creating a demo version of the website, researchers organised webinars aimed at presenting its content to educators in Ukraine and collected feedback from webinars’ participants. For that very reason the joint Latvian-Ukrainian team of researchers developed a web-based questionnaire using Google Forms. The population of the conducted research comprised 216 educators from different regions of Ukraine including university lecturers, general secondary teachers, researchers and students of pedagogical specialties. The obtained results proved the necessity of developing the web-based support system for educators aimed at reducing anxiety among schoolchildren in war-affected areas in Ukraine.
Stress is a condition related to complaints or disturbances of physical, psychological or social nature, which occur, if an individual does not feel able to fulfil all the requirements and expectations. In order to cope with stress situations, a person makes a particular effort for the regulation of it, in other words, for coping (overcoming, self-control). The coping is a multidimensional construct. The studies on this construct are rather recent in science, are carried out in the last twenty years. Due to that, the focus in stress research has shifted. Currently, more studies are conducted on prevention problems, how to develop and find resources in personality to cope with stress effectively. The first results of the study on the stress management peculiarities of social educators are reviewed in this paper as well. The research aim: to disclose the context of manifestation of occupational stress experienced by Lithuanian and Latvian social educators and its coping possibilities.
Based on the quantitative research results, the article deals with communication peculiarities of the participants of the temporary child guardianship situation – children and their biological parents whose parental rights are temporarily limited – at the temporary foster care institution in the aspect of specialists working there. Using descriptive mathematical statistics and statistical analysis methods, specialists’ opinion about the causes of disagreements between specialists and learners, the causes of disagreements between parents and specialists, and communication development possibilities of the participants of the temporary child guardianship situation were analysed.
