Musk puppet in Malang has a very special and distinctive presentation, that is consisting of some parts or acts in the forms of scenes: the Gending Giro traditional music, follwed with an opening dance Tari Patih, Jejeran, Grebek, Tari Bapang and Tari Gunungsari, ended with the scene of the meeting between Panji Asmarabangun and Candrakirana. The development of mask puppet in Malang as a cultural expression is very much influenced by the aspects of time, environment, and technological development especially information technology.
Over the years, the methods of preserving traditional performing arts have undergone a transformation in many states of Southeast Asia. In that, the performing art societies in Indonesia and Thailand have also made a shift in their conservation strategy from organizing the performing arts as a sacred rite with few participants to massive shows to entertain bigger audiences. This research intended to review the role of Maecenas (art protector) in enforcing the existence of Ramayanaperforming arts in three destinations in Indonesia and Thailand, namely Uluwatu’s Kecak Ramayana in Bali and Prambanan’s RamayanaBallet in Central Java, both located in Indonesia, and Khon Theater in Bangkok, Thailand. The research used a qualitative descriptive method with a functional theory approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and document review, following which they were analysed through interpretation. The result of the research showed that the aesthetical transformation of Ramayana performing arts in Indonesia and Thailand is determined by three factors, namely locality, time, and management.

Digital storytelling has been a popular part of education used as a medium for telling stories. A digital storytelling platform can facilitate the development of collaborative stories. If the storytelling process is facilitated properly, it will lead to the creation of stories that enhance the relationship between the players. Wayang Topeng is one of the traditional performing arts in Indonesia that needs to be told digitally so that students become more interested in and understand the stories about Wayang Topeng Malang. This is an R&D research that has used the modified Borg and Gall concept. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documents. The result of this study was the development of a digital introduction of the characters of Wayang Topeng Malang in the form of 2D animation. The digital storytelling application was uploaded on YouTube, making the content accessible to everyone.

Karakteristik tokoh dalam Lakon Panji terkait dengan konsepsi konsmologi Jawa yang hidup dalampikiran para pendukungnya. Pemahaman ini dimaksudkan untuk memahami nilai pendidikan, kaitannyadengan konsepsi yang melatar belakangi tokoh-tokoh di dalam lakon yang disajikan. Pada Lakon WayangTopeng Malang ditemukan empat tokoh sentral (inti) yaitu: Panji Asmarabangun, GaluhCandrakirana, Gunungsari, dan Klana Sewandana. Adapun keterkaitan dari empat tokoh tersebutadalah bersandar pada kosmologi Jawa yang disebut macapat, yaitu tentang kesadaran tentang adanyanilai-nilai kearifan local yang mampu membentuk kepribadian masyarakat pendukungnya.Kata kunci: karakterisik, Nilai, Lakon, Panji
