The Uniform Crime Reporting (
UCR
) is a program administered by the
FBI
to collect data on crime. This occurs at the local, state, and national levels. In this program, crime data are voluntarily submitted by more than 17,000 law enforcement agencies. The
UCR
program is intended to provide a national perspective on crime in the United States.
