Chinese adults typically took between 3,845 and 27,193 steps/day. 86.08% of the participants met the 10,000 steps/day recommendation and the average steps were 13,643 per day (SD = 3,616). A higher number of daily steps were observed on workdays (13,729 ± 52 steps) compared to weekends (13,419 ± 52 steps, p = 0.00). More steps were accumulated in the morning (5,584 ± 2,703 steps) and fewer steps were found in the evening (3,802 ± 1,900 steps). Men walked more than women on all occasions except during the afternoon.
