A radiologically defined, anatomically based classification system and treatment algorithm proved effective in clinical management of post-LSG fistula.

First intention exploratory laparotomy in strangulated hernia surgery was, in our study, a major cause of postoperative complication.

Patients with ASA class III or IV and those who present a postoperative pneumopathy or ARDS seem to be at higher risk for VTE. Thus, current VTE screening and thromboprophylaxis for these patients might be inadequate and needs further investigation.
