Globalization is not a process of depriving identity, but a process for maintaining the identity of a nation. Maintenance does not mean to close themselves from the influence of foreign culture. The values contained within a culture must have the ability to adapt and adapt to other cultures through a selection process. Considering the social phenomenon that is happening in the daily life of Minangkabau society, implied the roots of cultural values, especially the value of characters, began to erode in the education of children in the family. The value of the character is almost no longer reflected in the daily life of Minangkabau youth. In fact there is an extreme statement that is often expressed by adat leaders, that at the level of the concept of Minangkabau human still densely, but not in line with the level of behavior. Changes in behavior of the younger generation seems to have tercerabut from the roots of culture.Starting from the above phenomenon, the researcher wanted to re-question the tasks and functions of the tuahku sajar tungku, which had been instrumental in providing character values for the children and nephew in Minangkabau, but slowly the task began to shift and rely on the parents alone. The question that arises here is why customary law no longer raises the responsibility of planting the value of character to the tuah kuung sangan, what factors lead to waning the spirit of character values in the education of children in the family, and how the model design that can be used as a reference for the effort to re-revitalize the role of tigo stoves in helping parents in instilling character values on Minangkabau family. AbstrakPerkawinan adalah merupakan suatu cara dari manusia untuk mengembangkan keturunan oleh sebab itu setiap perkawinan harus memenuhi syarat tertentu baik berdasarkan hukum positif, agama dan disamping itu ada hukum adat yang tak kalah pentingnya dalam proses setiap krisis rites dari kehidupan manusia, yang berbeda tapi selalu dipertahankan oleh masyarakat, penelitian ini adalah merupakan penelitian normatif yang bersumber pada data primer dan sekunder yakni buku, undang-undang, jurnal, hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian bahwa kedudukan laki2 dalam adat Minangkabau itu rendah dan secara fisik ia tidak mempunyai tempat di rumah ibunya dan tidak mempunyai hak apa2 sebagai bapak dalam rumah tangga, bahkan anak laki tidak begitu mendapat perhatian, jika terjadi perceraian laki2 yg keluar dari rumah, tidak berhak atas harta gonogini kecuali harta asal dan jika istri meninggal dunia kerabat suami harus segera menjemput duda itu untuk kembali ke kaumnya, jika terjadi konflik keluarga wanitalah yang memiliki hak bicara, kedudukan inilah yang menimbulkan watak wanita Minangkabau selalu angkuh dan mendominasi.Kata Kunci : Perkawinan, Bajapuik, Konsekwensi, Keluarga

The sovereignty of the people is one of the principles of Indonesian state administration, contained in the Preamble and Articles in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, implemented through the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR). But after the Amendment to the 1945 Constitution, the position of the MPR in the Proclamation Constitution has been placed as the highest state institution and the holder of popular sovereignty, and today based on the institutional structure of the state, the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) has been degraded becoming an equal institution with other State institutions. Such implications, which are certainly seen from a constitutional perspective, have injured Pancasila democracy, which is based on deliberation and consensus, resulting in no more oversight mechanisms that can be carried out against various state institutions, including the President, and this in turn has led to liberal democracy based on individualism. Therefore, a comprehensive study is needed to reinstate the MPR as the highest state institution and holder of popular sovereignty in the format of State institutions in Indonesia as a representation of all Indonesian people based on deliberation and consensus in every decision making.
