Modify the child oriented hospital environments can increase the fun, feeling safe and comfortable environment for the child so that the child is always evolving and feel comfortable in their environment. The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of modifyng child oriented hospital environments to prevent the impact of hospitalization in Medan, North Sumatra. This research is Quasi-experimental using posttest-only control group design. This study used two groups of subjects ie intervention and control groups, the first group was untreated and the other groups being treated. Samples of this study were 40 school-age children (6-12 years), respectively the control group and the intervention as much as 40 respondents. Sampling technique is random sampling. Intervention is provided wall-hanging cartoons, colourful nurse clothes, bed linen, cartoons-patterned pillowcases and comic books. Data was analyzed using independent "t" test with α = 0.05. The result showed, in the control group the average impact hospitalization 10.10 with a standard deviation of 3.13, while the intervention group on average the impact of hospitalization 1.13 with a standard deviation of 1.12 (p value = 0.001). Conclusion of this research is that modifying thor being e hospital environment nuanced child can prevent the impact of hospitalization on children in Medan North Sumatra.
Tourist need information (i.e location, access, ticket, transportation, schedules, ets) from the internet and Internet of Things (IoT), they need convenient and accurate information for their vacation time. Convenience is defined as the satisfaction and safety of the tourists within the tourism area or during the trip. Based on it, local community must be the main actor and the primary driver of governmental agendas, collaborating with government and third parties. In many tourism area, local community have no information technology skills and cannot adapt to the developmental change needed for tourism. They have no community resilience. This paper, as a result of research with case study method, describes Toba area as cultural landscape heritage and the problem of local community to face the tourism development. A case study method is used to describe the ability and capacity to achieve 4.0 tourism, tourism development, and resilience in the local community.
Due to the absence of guidelines or plans, conservation and protection activities were done accidentally as a reaction to the situation. Therefore, this study aims to explore and establish a roadmap for the conservation and protection of cultural heritage in Medan through a compilation of secondary data on aspects of documentation, heritage legislation and community involvement and then followed by group discussions meeting with several Medan cultural heritage experts and staffs of the Cultural Office. Through data compilation and analysis, it was found that there were three missions from 6 missions of the city that had been determined by the current Medan Municipal Government. It was the guideline in making a scenario for the development of a roadmap for the heritage conservation in Medan which was dominated by the immovable heritage, especially buildings. Therefore this roadmap of heritage conservation of is intended to be a guideline in the effort to safeguard cultural heritage in Medan, particularly for the tangible heritage, however, in its implementation, it is inseparable from the intangible heritage. This roadmap covers five aspects, namely strengthening the capacity building of Institution and HR Management Systems, developing the cultural facilities, enhancing regulations and policies on culture heritage, provision of heritage conservation plans and guidelines, and public education improvement, socialization and promotion.
Space is an integral aspect of individual identity-forming, group and social. Some incidents at the Fakultas Pertanian (FP), one of 15 faculties in Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), show the space used as a tool and where students display the identity of the group. Communal space domination becomes a strategy used as a seniority identity. Junior students choose to step away from the senior space. Domination is a form of asymmetric power relations where the dominated subject has limited space to maneuver the choice of action. This dominant group predisposed to structure themselves as group-based social hierarchies and that the major forms of group oppression, prejudice, and discrimination. University is intended as a place where ideas, people, majors, in contrast to the concept of domination occur in the FP area. But senior domination through space strengthening the relationship between alumni after graduate students. By the qualitative research method, the research is done by supervision, questioning and answering with the student repeatedly. This paper explains how the concept of domination of the space succeeded in strengthening the relationship between groups when junior willingly it happened so that the experience of this event is interpreted as a way to build the next relationship.
