A 13-year-old male child reported to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology with the chief complaint of pain and difficulty in opening the mouth for last 6-7 months. Initially there was a small painful nodule over the right infra auricular region which gradually increased in size to attain the present dimensions. The patient did not give any history of trauma or tooth extraction. Many local physicians and dental surgeons were consulted and the patient received several courses of antibiotics and analgesics. However, he got no relief and concomitantly developed reduction in mouth opening. His past medical and family history were non contributory. He belonged to a poor socio-economic class.Extraoral examination revealed diffuse swelling involving right middle and lower third of face and a small, localized, painless, mobile mass measuring about 2.0 x 2.0 cm. just below and behind the right ear resulting in elevation of ipsilateral ear lobule, with normal overlying skin [Table/ Fig-1,2]. Nothing significant was noted on intraoral examination except for poor periodontal status and reduced mouth opening, Bleeding on probing was noted from the gingival margin of right maxillary lateral incisor and 1 st premolar [Table/ Fig-3]. Deviation of mandible towards left side was noted on opening the mouth.
In the Internet era, it is a huge challenge for users to find suitable and pertinent information out of the huge amount of online data. The challenge is particularly arduous for students searching for education information in a specific domain. To solve the problem, this paper puts forward an educational website ranking method, which applies fuzzy logic and k-means clustering in sequence. First, a fuzzy inference system (FIS) was established based on the fuzzy logic, and used to find the utility value (UV) of an educational website according to the feedback marks of each student. Then, the general utility value (GUV) of each educational website was determined through k-means clustering of all the UVs of that website. Then, the educational websites were ranked by their GUVs. The experimental results show that the proposed method ranks the educational websites clearly and correctly, enabling students to find the desired education information.
Calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor (CEOT) is a rare, benign, odontogenic tumor arising from the odontogenic epithelium and accounts for approximately 1% of all odontogenic tumors. Clear cell variant of CEOT is a distinct entity and has more aggressive biological behavior and higher chances of recurrence. Here, we present a unique case of clear cell variant of CEOT involving the left side of the maxillary alveolus in a 73-year-old female patient with thorough clinical, radiological, and histological details.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
