Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder disease caused by the pancreas is unable to produce enough insulin or the body can not use effectively produced insulin. One of the problems in the prevention of DM is the low level of knowledge, in this case the level of knowledge will affect the attitude in changing one's behavior. Improper diet causes an increase in blood sugar levels, for that one effort that can be done is to improve diet by applying the principle is the correct schedule, quantity and type of food. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship level knowledge, attitude and eating patterns with blood sugar levels in people with Diabetes Mellitus In the Working Area Health Center Sudiang Makassar. Research Method: This type of research is a quantitative analytical research with cross sectional design. Population and sample in this research is DM sufferer as many as 142 with purposive sampling sampling technique. The data were collected using questionnaires and measured blood sugar levels during DM patients. Data analysis using Chi Square with significance level α = 0,05. The results of research for knowledge level of 51,7% and knowledge less equal to 47,6%, for good attitude equal to 51,0% and less 55,9%, and result of good diet equal to 51,7% and bad 47.5%. From the statistic test results can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge with blood sugar levels (p value 0.000), and there is a significant relationship between attitudes with blood sugar levels (p value 0,000), and also there is a relationship significant between diet with blood sugar level (p value 0,000).
The ego competency model (ECM) presented to students in a structured education program uses a pre-experimental design with a one group pre- and posttest approach to evaluate whether the ego competency model will result in an increase in ego competence while improving adaptive coping. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the ego competency model in improving students' ability to use coping mechanisms. A pre-experimental design with a pretest group and a posttest approach was chosen to carry out the study. A total of 30 students were selected using a simple random sampling technique while studying at selected private schools in Makassar for the ego competency model intervention (14 sessions; each learning session is 50 minutes). Primary outcomes will include post-intervention effects on students' use of adaptive coping mechanisms. The pretest mean for coping mechanisms was 3.77 ± 1.69, which increased to 8.97 ± 0.72 in the posttest. The results showed that the ego competency model was effective in improving students’ ability to use coping mechanisms was statistically significant, p = 0.001
Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that is suffered by the sufferer for life. Causes are genetic, lifestyle, BMI, stress management and physical activity / xercise. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors for the incidence of DM. at the Puskesmas Mangasa, Makassar City. Methods: This research method is descriptive analytic with a case control study design. Place of research at Puskesmas Mangasa. The research was carried out on 1- 21 September 2020. Sampling used purposive sampling. The sample size of the study was 47 samples. Results: The results showed diet value OR = 5.111 (95% CI: 1.36-19.16), p = 0.028, BMI OR value = 0.242 (95% CI: 0.064-0.906), p = 0.065, Stress Management OR Value = 0.609 (95% CI: 0.149-2.484), p = 0.496 and sports activities OR = 0.267 (95% CI: 0.071-1.007), p = 0.090. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between diet and the incidence of DM, there is no relationship between BMI and the incidence of DM, there is no relationship between stress management and the incidence of DM and there is no relationship between sports activities and the incidence of DM.
Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah terbentuknya Kelas Ibu Hamil dan meningkatnya pengetahuan ibu-ibu hamil di Wilayah Kelurahan Mamajang Dalam mengenali tanda-tanda bahaya kehamilan. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah pemberian edukasi kesehatan dan Pembentukan Kelas Ibu hamil. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 25 dan 30 Agustus 2018 bertempat di Posyandu Kenanga I Kelurahan Mamajang Dalam Kecamatan Mamajang Kota Makassar. Metode dan alat yang digunakan 1). Pemberian edukasi Tanda Bahaya Kehamilan menggunakan media penyuluhan seperti gambar, pengeras suara. Media yang digunakan adalah Modul pembelajaran. Pihak-pihak yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini adalah Petugas KIA Puskesmas Mamajang, Kader posyandu dan masyarakat khususnya ibu hamil. Hasil kegiatan adalah 1). Latar belakang pendidikan peserta adalah 10 orang yang terdiri dari 8 orang (80%) berpendidikan Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) dan 2 orang (20%) berpendidikan Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). 2). Hasil Evaluasi Pre dan Post Test menunjukan bahwa terjadi peningkatan nilai hasil tes berkisar antara 40-55. 3). Hasil Evaluasi Tingkat Kemanfaatan selurh peserta (100%) menilai sangat bermanfaat. Kesimpulan kegatan ini adalah 1). terbentuknya Kelompok ibu hamil di Posyandu Kenanga I Kelurahan Mamajang Dalam Kecamatan Mamajang Kota Makassar. 2). Terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan pada kelompok ibu hamil di Wilayah Kelurahan Mamajang Dalam Kecamatan Mamajang Kota Makassar tentang pengenalan tanda bahaya kehamilan.
