The article interprets qualitative and quantitative research data disclosing the detrimental effect of public information in the context of children rights' protection. The empirical research is based on Social Acquisition Theory, presents the main statement -an individual learns social behaviour through observation. This theory especially emphasises the impact of environment, behaviour and personality's factors and their general effect. It is dislosed that magazines for children play an important role in the process of child's becoming a member of society and perceiving the surrounding reality. Referring to Social Constructivism Theory, media creates social meanings and presents them to the people who are creating their own social reality considering or not the symbolic media constructions. Therefore, media performs the function of social reality construction. The results of empirical research have revealed that negative public information is presented in the magazines for children: violent, erotic, detrimental to health and other negative information. The majority of information is erotic or contains obscene words, curses, gestures.
The article revealed the game as a social and cultural child’s life and creative philosophical meaningfulness. Scientific discussion and debate problem directions are demonstrated, described their content. Disclosed: what game questions are highlighted in Lithuanian and foreign scientists’ research works in search of his creative, existential, cognitive meanings; why scientists describe the game as a child’s living world project, say that in the scientific meanings, this question is very paradoxical? The paradox interpreted as follows: the more delves into the meanings, the more questions remain unanswered. Issue of the scientific debate and discussion convergent: social, cultural, cognitive, creative meaningfulness of the game to a child’s life. The game features a variety of concepts and the child’s motivation for resolution in the game, the pedagogical conditions of the game, social – philosophical meaningfulness, and effective process of the game, adult’s role in it, the child’s sociocultural competence and expression in adult and children’s cultural possibilities /impossibilities.
<p>The article deals with the research related to the school choice process, conducted by Lithuanian and foreign scholars. Qualitative research results are presented disclosing that the most significant school choice criteria are the reputation and location of the school. The section discussing empirical research results presents the content of these and other criteria, analyses their importance for school choice.</p>

Children's summer leisure as non-formal cultural education (learning) environment in Europe and the United States is equally important as learning in a formal, institutionalized (school) environment. In these countries there is interest in children's weekend, festive, school (including summer) vacation, leisure time. Lithuania is the opposite -a formal interest in school, leisure, entertainment and children's informal cultural environment (after all, one of these environments is summer leisure environment) has not been almost studied. Children's summer vacation became important because of its long duration -two / three months. Most parents and children's summer vacation periods do not coincide, so adults worry about their children activity during the summer holidays. Then children's summer leisure is overlooked, perceived as an adult controlled and proposed activity.The aim of the study is to justify social, educational, cultural meanings of children's summer leisure.The object of the study is children's summer leisure significance. Methods: theoretical analysis, meta-analysis.Results. The processes of democracy and liberalization occurring in modern society and the declared philosophy of humanism permit to investigate children's leisure culture in summer as a social and educational phenomenon within the contexts of 'free' (self-) education and the phenomenon of freedom. Children's leisure culture in summer is contextualized as the time disposed by children themselves and implicates social and educational meanings. In terms of such conceptions the child becomes an active creator of his/her leisure culture. The social and educational significance of children's leisure culture in summer is perceived through the meanings attached by children themselves. Such interpretational paradigm of children's leisure culture in summer turns out to be significant in creating new knowledge for educators (parents, teachers, specialists of non-formal education, etc.).
