The field of education is associated with parents, students, teachers, and management. The teaching is a noble profession as it builds the future of a nation and the turnover of these teaching professionalscan adversely affect the teaching learning process and long-term health and success of the Institute.It is therefore penultimate to sustain engagementfor retainingtheseemployees.The studyexaminedthe relationship between Employee engagement and Employee retention. It also suggests measures for improvingemployee retention in higher education institutions. Primary data has been collected and analysis is done using SPSS software. It is found that when employees are valued, they get motivatedto go the extra mile.They show a sense of belonging to the institute, get engaged in productive activities and stay for a longer duration in the institute.
The study investigated the relationship between Spiritual Engagement (SE) and Teacher Engagement (TE) and level teacher engagement among teachers in higher education. A sample consists of 151 teachers from three higher education Institutes of Hyderabad. All respondents were assessed using a structured questionnaire and the questionnaire included 16 items consisting of four components of teacher Engagement taken from Engaged Teacher Scale (ETS) validated by Klassen et al (2013) and 4 items for Spiritual Engagement taken from SISRI developed by D. King (2008). The study revealed high correlation between Spiritual Engagement (SE) and Teacher Engagement (TE) also high level of Teacher Engagement due to the presence of Spiritual Engagement (SE). The study suggests to improve sub factors of CE and SEC effective teacher engagement and provides a future scope for developing a New model by adding a component SE in Engaged Teacher scale (ETS) and also design new scale for TE by including SE component.
The survival, growth and prosperity of every organization depends on its competent and engaged workforce or the employees. The number of employees working in an organization is the measure of workforce but the number of employees who have given continuous service for many years is the measure of committed and spiritually intelligent work force .We might find employees following the instructions, obeying rules ,conforming to regulations and working but that this do not give the assurance that they are truly committed and engaged. The study examined the role of Spiritual Intelligence (SI) on Employee Engagement (EE)and mediating influence of Knowledge Management on Employee Engagement. A structured questionnaire was administered to a sample of 150 employees randomly selected from the IT Institutes of Telangana. The study has focused on how to engage employees for a longer time in the Institutes and the measures to be taken to improve employee engagement .The study used statistical tools like exploratory factor analysis and mediation analysis in this research. The result showed that improving Spiritual Intelligence and Knowledge management should be made a priority in order to engage employees better.
