In the era of technology, the demand of the software development increases at a very high speed, as software has touched the human's life in all aspects. One of the most significant issues in effective and efficient teamwork is the team leader selection because the team leader is the person in any team that is going to handle all types of managerial activities such as leadership, motivation to others, etc. The team leader selection process may be dependent on numerous conflicting selection indexes that make it a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem. In the present research, an MCDM approach namely, Euclidean Distance Based Approximation (EDBA) which is based on the calculation of the composite distance value for each alternative from a hypothetical optimal point is presented. In this article, we tried to examine the tendency of parental influence on mating, which is associated with the level of collectivism in a culture. A scale to assess the degree of parental influence on mate selection was administered to 762 respondents at Bagalkot in Karnataka. The respondents mainly college students studying in final year degree in professional and non professional course. Respondents were found to be more conservative on every dependent variable. The perceived influence of parents on mate choices emerged as an influential factor on dependent variables regardless of the respondents culture of origin. Data analysis indicates that parental influence has been an important part of human mating.
The present study is to known the trends and patterns in mate selection choice among college student in Bagalkot. The study was conducted on a sample of 762 respondents, studying in final year degree of professional and non-professional colleges, as they were on the verge of completion of their degree and also they have attained marriageable age. To understand & analyze the trends, an interview schedule was prepared and used. Findings show that most of the respondents consider marriage is an important and an inevitable event in every body's life. Choice marriages within the caste with parents consent and with traditional rituals were preferred. Matching of horoscope was favored while dowry was considered as an evil of society. Male respondents prefer partner younger than themselves while females prefer near their own age or older 2-3 years of age difference between male and female was found ideal.
