We study the stability of charged solitons in 5-dimensional Anti-de Sitter (AdS) space-time. We show that for appropriate choices of the parameters of the model these solutions become unstable to form scalar hair. We find that the existence of charged solitons with scalar hair depends crucially on the charge and the mass of the scalar field. We investigate the dependence of the spectrum of solutions on the mass of the scalar field in detail. For positive mass of the scalar field the hairy solitons can be interpreted as charged boson stars. We find that for sufficiently small value of the charge of the scalar field a "forbidden band" of the boson star mass and charge exists, while all our results indicate that -contrary to the asymptotically flat space-time case -boson stars in asymptotically AdS can have arbitrarily large charge and mass.
We study spherically symmetric soliton solutions in a model with a
conformally coupled scalar field as well as in full conformal gravity. We
observe that a new type of limiting behaviour appears for particular choices of
the self-coupling of the scalar field, i.e. the solitons interpolate smoothly
between the Anti-de Sitter vacuum and an uncharged configuration. Furthermore,
within conformal gravity the qualitative approach of a limiting solution does
not change when varying the charge of the scalar field - contrary to the
Einstein-Hilbert case. However, it changes with the scalar self-coupling.Comment: 18 pages including 12 figures; v2: 19 pages including 12 figures,

The phase shift a neutron interferometer caused by the gravitational field and the rotation of the earth is derived in a unified way from the standpoint of general relativity. General relativistic quantum interference effects in the slowly rotating braneworld as the Sagnac effect and phase shift effect of interfering particle in neutron interferometer are considered. It was found that in the case of the Sagnac effect the influence of brane parameter is becoming important due to the fact that the angular velocity of the locally non rotating observer must be larger than one in the Kerr space-time. In the case of neutron interferometry it is found that due to the presence of the parameter Q * an additional term in the phase shift of interfering particle emerges from the results of the recent experiments we have obtained upper limit for the tidal charge as Q * 10 7 cm 2 . Finally, as an example, we apply the obtained results to the calculation of the (ultra-cold neutrons) energy level modification in the braneworld.
We discuss the formation of scalar hair on Gauss-Bonnet solitons and black holes in 5-dimensional Antide Sitter (AdS) space-time. We present new results on the static case and point out further details. We find that the presence of the Gauss-Bonnet term has an influence on the pattern of soliton solutions for small enough values of the electric charge. We also discuss rotating Gauss-Bonnet black holes with and without scalar hair.
