Fused pyrimidine derivativesFused pyrimidine derivatives R 0515 Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of Some Pyrazoline Derivatives of 4(3H)-Quinazolinones. -New compounds incorporating both the quinazolinone and pyrazolinone ring system are synthesized by reaction of hydrazides (IV) with acetoacetate (V). Preparation of Thioethers Using S N 1-Active Halides and Zinc Mercaptides.-A simple and efficient method for the synthesis of thioethers (III) (14 examples) based on the reaction of in situ prepared zinc mercaptides with various halides is given. Scope and limitations of these thioether syntheses are established.
