The aim of this study was to explore the role of teachers’ Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) as motivator in political education. The research was conducted at State of Senior High School 1 (SMAN 1) and State of Senior of High School 10 (SMAN 10) at Padang City. This research had employed a qualitative research with comparative studies. The data were analyzed using data analysis techniques, data presentation, and concluding. The validity of the data was tested by source triangulation. The result showed that the role of Teachers’ Pancasila and Civic Education not only educating the character of the nation's generation but emphasize the role of Teachers’ Pancasila and Civic Education as motivators in political education. Where the teacher as a motivator plays a role to give encouragement, enthusiasm, and intelligence to students in understanding political education.

Radicalism and terrorism are often connected to a misconception of religion’s teachings. It emerges since one or a group of persons learn a religion’s teachings from wrong sources. In other words, they gain information form wrong persons or wrong literatures. Most of those involve in striking terror are youngsters for that education is then considered as one of solutions to prevent radicalism and terrorism. Thus this article proposes an alternative to avoid youngsters from the misconception of religion’s teachings by providing and selecting themes of teaching material that inform about truthful religion’s view on radicalism and terrorism.
In English language teaching, teaching reading plays an important role, for reading is one of language skills. In order to succeed doing this activity, a teacher must be familiar and able to employ various teaching readingstrategies that can assist his/her students comprehend what they read. To check students’ reading comprehension, a teacher may propose several questions related to the texts being read. However, if the students have difficulties dealing with these reading comprehension questions, a teacher must be able to help them by introducing reading strategies to overcome the problems. QAR is one of reading strategies which is beneficial for a teacher to check students’ reading comprehension and frame reading question-answer activity in reading phases: pre-, while-, and post-reading; as well as to help students locate answers for the questions.
This descriptive qualitative research aims to describe the selection and usage of English for Islamic studies material based on Islamic character values. It was conducted at English for Islamic studies class followed by the students of Akhwal As Syakhsiyyah Department, IAIN Pontianak. The results showed that the lecturer chose internet authentic material regarding Islamic character values, and he administered an online readability test to gain a reading passage that fits students' abilities. According to interviews with several students, after reading and discussing passages containing Islamic character values, students felt that such reading materials were beneficial information, and they attempted to behave according to Islamic characters mentioned in the reading passages.
