The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused countless impacts and influences on human life. It disturbs the order of life and macro and micro-economics, drastically and radically changes human cultural and behavioral patterns, and greatly impacts the concepts of church theology, pastoring, and ministry. This study is a descriptive qualitative study on the COVID-19 and normal & abnormal reactions & responses to it. Through this article, the authors observed that the COVID-19 existence has transformed and recorrected the Christian paradigm on 1) ecclesiology, which to date exclusively based on building to the real Church, namely God’s people in the form of house/“tent” churches; 2) digital media utilization in this Society 5.0 era as God’s grace to all humanity. Findings and changes in society through renewable technology are an inseparable part of the pandemic. A dichotomic gap of understanding between science and technology for centuries should be reformulated. New technological inventions and social media created by humans are media in the hands of God that should be utilized by the Church to minister in various categories to improve the quality of ministry and service; and 3) creative and innovative interpretation of threefold responsibilities of the Church: koinonia, diakonia, and martyria.
Cross-cultural evangelism is the duty of all believers without exception. In Acts 10 there is an interesting phenomenon related to cross-cultural service. In the verse it is recorded that the apostle Peter was given the task by God through a vision to go to Cornelius's place, to preach about Jesus. Cornelius was a Greek while the apostle Peter was Jewish. The Apostle Peter was a Jew who held strong Jewish customs. This shows the cross-cultural service that is happening. This article aims to describe the implementation of cross-cultural services based on Acts 10:34-43. The author uses descriptive qualitative research methods by analyzing data such as books and journals. From the results of the analysis, the authors found that the church needs to introduce Christ as a God who loves everyone, preach that everyone deserves salvation, deliver the news of peace through Jesus Christ to all, and deliver the news of peace through Jesus Christ to everyone. The church's awareness of the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus is one of them is to implement cross-cultural ministry, specifically in terms of evangelism.AbstrakPelayanan penginjilan lintas budaya merupakan tugas semua orang percaya tanpa terkecuali. Dalam Kisah Para Rasul 10 terdapat fenomena menarik berkaitan dengan pelayanan lintas budaya. Dalam ayat tersebut tercatat bahwa rasul Petrus diberi tugas oleh Tuhan melalui penglihatan untuk pergi ke tempat Kornelius, supaya memberitakan tentang Yesus. Kornelius adalah seorang Yunani sedangkan rasul Petrus adalah orang Yahudi. Rasul Petrus merupakan seorang Yahudi yang memegang kuat kebiasaan Yahudi. Hal tersebut menunjukkan adanya pelayanan lintas budaya yang terjadi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan implementasi pelayanan lintas budaya berdasarkan Kisah Para Rasul 10:34-43. Penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menganalisis data-data seperti buku-buku maupun jurnal-jurnal. Dari hasil analisis tersebut penulis menemu-kan bahwa gereja perlu memperkenalkan Kristus sebagai Allah yang mengasihi semua orang, memberitakan bahwa semua orang berhak menerima keselamatan, menyampaikan berita damai melalui Yesus Kristus kepada semua orang, dan menyampaikan berita damai melalui Yesus Kristus kepada semua orang. Kesadaran gereja terhadap Amanat Agung Tuhan Yesus salah satunya ialah dengan mengimplementasikan pelayanan lintas budaya, secara khusus dalam hal penginjilan.
This article describes problem solving strategies in pastoral ministry. The problem solving strategy is certainly carried out with a contextual approach. It means that the principles of pastoral service are aligned with local situations and conditions. This article describes problem solving strategies based on John 4:1-26, by looking at Jesus' example in solving problems experienced by Samaritan women. Furthermore, this article also describes the follow-up service that can be done to the counselor when it is served. The purpose is of course for the counselor to draw closer and to know Christ more deeply and for the counselor to continue to grow. The method used in this study is a quantative method with a descriptive approach.
Suku Dayak Ngaju merupakan suku yang berada di Kalimantan Tengah yang memiliki filosofi unik dari Huma Betang yang dimilikinya. Sebagai warga Dayak Ngaju, mengatur nilai filosofi dari Huma Betang . Meninjau filosofi Huma Betang tersebut secara alkitabiah, didapati ada keselarasan dengan gaya hidup jemaat mula-mula yang disajikan dalam Kisah Para Rasul 2: 42-47. Dengan demikian, yang menjadi rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana kontekstualisasi pembinaan umat mengenai fungsi gereja berdasarkan Kisah Para Rasul 2: 42-47 melalui filosofi Huma Betangsuku Dayak Ngaju? Penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dalam penelitian ini. Data seperti literatur-literatur dan penelitian-penelitian yang berkaitan dengan topik ini diamati dan diolah guna menemukan informasi yang tepat. Kemudian penulis memaparkan hasil penelitian secara sistematis. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah filosofi Huma Betang yaitu nilai kebersamaan, nilai kejujuran, nilai kesetaraan, dan nilai kekeluargaan secara berurutan dikontekstualisasikan sebagai persekutuan, integritas diri, kasih sesama, dan sebagai anggota tubuh Kristus. Kesimpulannya adalah upaya kontekstualisasi filosofi Huma Betang menjadi rujukan yang baik dalam melakukan pembinaan gereja dalam suku Dayak Ngaju.
Dayak Kubin tribe has a culture that still survives to this day, namely Bejopai culture.Bejopai is an activity of the Dayak Kubin community that is generally done by working in the areas. Through the Bejopai culture conducted by the Dayak Kubin tribe in West Kalimantan, the author observes that contextual discipleship can be done. The problem formulation in this study is how the purpose of this writing is how the contextual discipleship approach in Dayak Kubin tribe through Bejopai culture in West Kalimantan? The aim is to present the contextual discipleship approach in the Dayak Kubin tribe through Bejopai Culture in West Kalimantan. The qualitative research method using qualitative methods is to make observations, interviews, or study documents. The locus of this study is in Sungai Bakah Village. Through the discussion results, it was found that contextual discipleship can be applied through persuasive communication approaches, patterns of working while telling stories, and discipleship to discipleship. The conclusion is that Bejopai culture can be used as a medium to do contextual discipleship that is quite effective in the Dayak Kubin tribe.
