This paper will describe an alternative approach to promoting English as a foreign language from an early age among Indonesian families. We are aware that several approaches have been taken by researchers, curriculum writers, and school teachers, but in reality, the success has not been as satisfying as the expectations of all parties, especially the government. Therefore, we have collected data and analyzed it under a descriptive qualitative study approach. Data analysis starts from applying data coding, critical interpretation, evaluation, and data organization to become valid, finding data to answer questions as above. Based on research evidence from hundreds of works of literature, we can conclude from the results of this study, among other things, that the approach to promoting English language learning in families at an early age has proven to be very successful compared to the approach to learning in schools when they are teenagers. Thus, it is hoped that this finding will be beneficial for many parties; curriculum designers, teachers, and parents.
Penelitian ini berjudul“Kohesi Gramatikal dan Leksikal dalam karangan Eksposisi kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Laguboti Kabupaten Toba Samosir T.A 2018/2019.Penelitian ini diangkat untuk mendeskripsikan Aspek Kohesi Gramatikal dan Leksikal pada karangan Eksposisikelas X SMA Negeri 1 Laguboti.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara sistematis, faktual, dan akurat dengan menggunakan kata-kata atau kalimat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai November 2018-Oktober 2019. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah tulisan “Karangan Eksposisi”. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah Kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Laguboti . Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis interaktif, yaitu reduksi, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Teknik validitas data menggunakan trianggulasi teori.Prosedur penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penyusunan laporan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa “Karangan Eksposisi” pada Kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Laguboti terjalin dengan adanya aspek gramatikal dan leksikal. Sehingga makna yang dihasilkan dari perpaduan tersebut dapat dipahami oleh pembaca. Dengan kata lain, keterkait-an antarkalimat dinyatakan dengan unsur gramatikal. Karangan eksposisi yang kohesif akan menunjukkan hubungan yang jelas antara satuan bentuk yang satu dan yang lain, sehingga makna teks menjadi jelas dan utuh.
The study aimed to prove the effectiveness of the application of the Beyond Centers and Circles Time methods on coursework writing, measuring improved writing skills and the attitude of prospective English lecturers' learners after applying the methods of Beyond Centers and Circles Time and knowing learner responses to the application of the methods of Beyond Centers and Circles Time. This type of research is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using posttest Experiment Group design pretests. The result shows the changing occurs in learners' writing skill which means that there is an increasing in the pretests value to the posttest with an average N-Gain of moderate criteria is 0.56, from the test results the P-value is 0.000, if the P-value < 0.005 can be concluded that the method Beyond Centers and Circles Time effectively applied to the course of writing, there is a percentage increase in scientific stance at each of the lowest meetings of 52.00% and the highest percentage of 84.80. Conclusion of the results that the implementation of the method of Beyond Centers and Circles Time was obtained that the increase in writing skill and the scientific attitudes of prospective lecturers and learners gave positive responses to the application of Beyond Centers and Circles Time method.
This study aims to dig up information on how students understand Islamic religion courses by using a basic semiotic approach to improve security in reading skills in Islamic religious course content. We conducted a series of debriefings with students from Sam Ratulangi University in the city. We obtained the data and analyzed it under a phenomenological approach which involved, among other things, interpretation of data grouping data and concluding to gain an understanding of validly answering study questions. Based on the results of interviews and analysis as well as gold, we can conclude that the understanding of Islamic religious course texts among student participants in general Islamic religious courses is categorized as good where students use a basic symbiotic approach to understand Islamic religious texts even though they have little understanding of Islam—considering that the majority of students at Sam Ratulangi University are not many who adhere to Islam. These findings will provide a new understanding and support studying students' academic skills using a basic semiotic approach.
This study aims to examine the effect of Project-Based Blended Learning on the ability to write negotiating texts moderated by the role of learning motivation. This experimental study involved 60 students in different classes where 30 people are in the control group and 30 others are in the experimental group. The data in this study are obtained from the results of the pretest and posttest to assess the ability of negotiating texts. The collected data is analyzed using the Anova test. Before being analyzed, the researcher tested the instrument and tested the classical assumptions. The test results show that all instrument items are valid and reliable. All data are known to meet the classical assumption test. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that learning motivation is able to moderate the relationship between project-based blended learning and the ability to write negotiating texts. Teachers are advised to apply project-based blended learning with more intensity to be applied in learning. For further researchers, it is possible to integrate this learning model into learning activities to measure the improvement of other students' abilities.
