The 21st-century skills are the answer to the world of education in welcoming the industrial era 4.0. Indonesian language teaching materials for the Vocational High School (SMK) level also need to adapt to this approach. Synchronizing the SMK curriculum with industry certainly brings advantages for preparing anecdotal text teaching materials, especially animation skills. This research and development using the 4D method, seek to create prototypes of teaching materials that apply 21st-century skills assisted by Google Sites. The research stages consist of initial research and information gathering, product foundation and planning, and product format development. The product testing stage is not carried out. Teachers have difficulty completing the material because learning hours are often used for vocational activities. The application of 21st-century skills in anecdotal teaching materials is as follows: (1) critical thinking is applied to activities to identify structure and language; (2) communication is carried out by presenting the idea to be uploaded through social media; (3) collaboration with group activities in writing anecdotes based on comic strips; and (4) creativity and innovation in compiling anecdotal texts based on comic strips in the order given.
Some students find writing short stories difficult and boring. One way to improve writing skills is to use a hybrid learning model. It is a type of learning that combines various methods to help learn new information. Hybrid learning is a learning model that combines traditional face-to-face and online learning resources. This allows for smarter learning experiences for both students and teachers. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of the hybrid learning model in the short story writing skills of class XI SMAIT Al Uswah Bangil. This type of research uses a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire. The results of data analysis using the different test, namely the Paired sample t-test, found that the p value was 0.000 <α 0.05, which means that the results of the study showed that the hybrid learning model proved effective in short story writing skills for class XI students at SMAIT Al Uswah Bangil.
Personification is one of the figurative languages used in casual and academic texts. One of the popular magazines that employs figurative language to attract readers is Trubus. The current study aims to analyze the classification, structure, rhyme words, lexical meaning, and imagery styles of personification in Trubus magazine. It is descriptive qualitative research using the Metaphor Identification Procedure (MIP) approach. The data source in this study is Trubus magazine, edition 2021. Data analysis covers the personification of figurative language's reduction, assessment, and inference. The result found that the personification style in this magazine belongs to inanimate objects, which tend to be abstract. Meanwhile, the rhyme words employ the beauty of the alliteration sound at the beginning of the word. Further, the grammatical structure is general. Lastly, grammatical, textual, and contextual fields contribute to meaning-making.
