This study aims to examine the adoption of mobile commerce in Pakistan by speciically considering the impact of mobile application compatibility, online shopping and online payment on its user satisfaction. This study is also an informative source to critically examine the mediating role of social media networking site adoption within these variables' relationship by covering the previous studies' gaps. To fulill this aim, an online survey-based quantitative research design approach was used with a sample size of 427 (M = 237, F = 190) and a simple random sampling strategy was adopted. The sample consisted of people who actively used social media sites and mobile apps for online shopping. After collecting their reliable outcomes, the SPSS and smart PLS software utilized in analysis the reliable outcomes of which depicted that there is a signiicant impact of mobile application compatibility, online shopping and online payment on the user satisfaction for adopting mobile commerce under the mediating role of Social Networking Sites (SNS) adoption in Pakistan context. The study at hand is an authentic and reliable source of information because of its managerial and theoretical implications in the ield of m-commerce. In addition to this, there is also an opportunity in front of upcoming scholars to cover its methodological and contextual gap in their future studies.
This study entails the notion of studying the psychosocial correlates of variations and modifications that social media users tend to carry out at the time of uploading and sharing their profile pictures. The In literature review researcher discuses the descriptive account of the academic current state of affairs with regard to the social networking profile picture uploaded by an individual being online. The study is important because it inspects one of the crucial imperative involving individual’s psyches behind changing and choosing variety of profile pies and in order to present them online. Researcher observes the psychosocial factors that lie behind influencing the social media users to change and edit their profile picture including the gender- based considerations. Moreover, study also observes the relationship of picture editing and interest of social media users with photography. For this purpose, a sample of 100 university students had been taken to fill the seven-likert scale questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted on questions related to social and psychological factors of an individual for changing and editing the social media profile picture and perceived notion of self-image and body satisfaction by users. The results of the study indicate that Females tend to be more interested in editing their profile pictures on social media. There seems not a strong relationship between the interest of photography and editing of the photo. Three main reasons, representing oneself for being unique, to show the fun and for being in mainstream line has been observed that motivate the users most of the time to change and edit the profile picture. Purpose: The present study aims to explore the role of viewer’s reactivity of entertainment and empathy in their perception of violence against women among viewers of Lahore, Pakistan. The supplementary aim was also formulated to gain more clear insight which is the role of viewers’ gender in viewer’s reactivity and perception of violence against women. Design/Methodology/Approach Quantitative method was used in the study. Sample was consisted of 500 viewers of the thirty dramas serials of Geo, ARY Digital and Hum TV which presented violence against women. The participants were drawn through purposive and snowball sampling strategies. The sample has 233 male participants and 267 female participants. Findings: The findings indicated that viewer’s reactivity of both enjoyment and empathy correlated with perception of violence against women. Gender differences were found only for the one sub scale of perception (i.e., domination). Implications/Originality/Value: The findings highlighted that perception of violence against women was more inclined towards active violence being portrayed by the entertainment channels and chances to imitate the same behavior in society cannot be ruled out.
Purpose: This study is “Role of Television Talk Shows in Political Conflict Resolution after General Elections 2013: A Study of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf and Pakistan Muslim League –N”. The research has aimed to explore the role of political talk shows in resolving the political conflict between PTI and PML-N, to assess their issues regarding their conflict, to examine the discussion on matters of common interest among them and to compare and analyze the discussion on matters of common interests and disputing issues between PTI and PML-N in television political talk shows. Design/Methodology/Approach: This research has used quantitative content analysis for collecting data and has concluded that the political talk shows have not been playing a positive role in resolving the political conflict between conflicting parties and moreover the role of political talk shows has been escalating in the process of political conflict resolution between PTI and PML-N. Findings: This study has also concluded that the role of anchor persons has not facilitated the discussion of talk shows towards a need of any possible solution regarding the discussed problem between PTI and PML-N. Implications/Originality/Value: It has been concluded that the political talk shows have highlighted the disputing and controversial issues between the conflicting parties instead of discussing the matters of common interests among them. The political talk shows have not encouraged a need of any possible solution regarding the political conflict resolution between PTI and PML-N after general elections 2013.
The study is to analyze the representation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Pakistani leading English newspapers. The study attempts to view the stance of the newspaper regarding the project and compares its coverage in its news items and editorials. Content analysis of Dawn, Frontier Post, and Nation was conducted. Moreover, researchers also observe the most highlighted issues associated with this project. The theory of Agenda Setting and Framing was considered. Hence, the study reveals that Frontier Post is one of the newspapers that gave maximum coverage to the issue in its news items and editorials. However, Dawn newspaper represents the issue with maximum frequency under the positive category and Frontier Post under the negative category. It is concluded that most highlighted issues mentioned in the news items and editorials are the issue of transparency concerning the objection from the side of the opposition party and fear of Baloch nationalist.
