In this paper, a COVID-19 Awareness model in the setting of a generalized fractional Atangana-Baleanu derivative is proposed. The existence and uniqueness of a solution of the proposed fractional-order model are investigated under the techniques of fixed point theorems. In addition, we perform the predictor-corrector method to find its numeric solutions and present the graphs of the various solutions using different values of the parameters embodied in the derivative.
Studies in the five recent years have shown that more than half of Nigerian undergraduate students changed their study programs and career decisions. Notwithstanding this fact, lack of research addresses factors that affect the Nigerian undergraduate students made such a decision. Therefore, the present study aims to explore the influence of academic performance, family support, and interest on career decision of undergraduate students in Jigawa state Nigeria. A set of questionnaires was utilized as an instrument to collect the data from a total of 373 Nigerian undergraduate students. Drawing on correlational study using structural equation modelling approach, this study revealed that academic reason (t=3.452; β=0.191; P=0.001) and family support (t=4.554; β=0.234; P=0.000) have statistically significant correlation with career decision making of the students. On the contrary, interest was empirically proven to not have a significant relationship with the career decision making (t=0.899; β=-.056; P=0.369). Thus, it is concluded that academic reason and family support play more crucial role in determining the career decision of undergraduate students in Nigeria than their interest abilities. This study provides implication for Nigerian government and non-government organizations to massively educate parents and families so that they can encourage their children’s career paths and support their career choices.
This paper examines relationships between family, peer group, media and career decision making among undergraduate students in nigeria. A quantitative correlational research design was utilized. 1,200 undergraduates form the population while 373 constitute the sample size of the study. The instruments used are factors influencing undergraduate students' career decision making questionnaire with a reliability coefficient (α=.853) and career decision making self-efficacy short form questionnaire (α=.919). Structural equation modelling (sem) by using smart partial least squares (smart-pls 3.2.9) show that family and career decision making has highest significant path (t=3.828), (β=0.197) and (p=0.000) and the second highest significant path is media and career decision making (t=2.806), (β=0.129) and (p= 0.005) have significant relationship with career decision making at 0.05 level of significant. It was recommended that parents should support and endorse their children's career choice and not to impose any career that is against their wishes. It was concluded that institutions and non-governmental organization should be organizing regular career guidance program, it will enable students to explore their interests and abilities at an early stage of adolescence that may help them make wise and realistic career decision.
The study assesses the relationship between career decision-making and family, financial reasons, and self-esteem among undergraduates in Jigawa state, Nigeria using a quantitative correlational research design of the 1,200 undergraduates from Sule Lamido University and Federal University Dutse who made up the population of the study, 373 undergraduates were randomly sampled for the study. Instruments used are: Factors influencing undergraduate students' career decision-making questionnaire and a career decision-making self-efficacy short-form questionnaire. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) by using Smart Partial Least Squares (Smart-PLS3) was used to analyse the data in line with the hypotheses. The results show that family and financial reasons are positively significant in career decision making among undergraduates. Decisions about family and career (t = 4.300), (β= 0.225), and (P=0.000). With (t = 2.047), (β =0.102), and (P=0.041), the second most significant paths are financial reasons and career decision making. Thus, schools, government agencies, and non-profit organisations should provide scholarships to deserving students so that they can follow their chosen occupations. Students should be exposed to job information and coaching by the school administration in order to assist them in choosing good and realistic career choices. To help minimise the influence of stakeholders on students' career aspirations, school leaders should engage with the counselling unit in schools to provide career workshops for students and parents.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
