Background It remains unclear whether neurobehavioral testing adds significant information to histologic assessment of experimental traumatic brain injury (TBI) and if automated gait assessment using the CatWalk XT®, while shown to be effective in in the acute phase, is also effective in the chronic phase after experimental TBI. Therefore, we evaluated the correlation of CatWalk XT® parameters with histologic lesion volume and analyzed their temporal and spatial patterns over four weeks after trauma induction. Methods C57Bl/6 mice were subjected to controlled cortical impact (CCI). CatWalk XT® analysis was performed one day prior to surgery and together with the histological evaluation of lesion volume on postoperative days one, three, seven, 14 and 28. Temporal and spatial profiles of gait impairment were analyzed and a total of 100 CatWalk XT® parameters were correlated to lesion size. Results While in the first week after CCI, there was significant impairment of nearly all CatWalk XT® parameters, impairment of paw prints, intensities and dynamic movement parameters resolved thereafter; however, impairment of dynamic single paw parameters persisted up to four weeks. Correlation of the CatWalk XT® parameters with lesion volume was poor at all timepoints. Conclusion As CatWalk XT® parameters do not correlate with focal lesion size after CCI, gait assessment using the CatWalk XT® might add valuable information to solitary histologic evaluation of the injury site. While all CatWalk XT® parameters can be used for gait assessments in the first week after CCI, dynamic single paw parameters might be more relevant in the chronic phase after experimental TBI.
Internet of Things (IoT) provides data processing and machine learning techniques with access to physical world data through sensors, namely telemetry data. Acquiring sensor data through IoT faces challenges such as connectivity and proper measurement requiring domain-specific knowledge, that results in data quality problems. Data sharing is one solution to this. In this work, we propose IoT Telemetry Data Hub (IoT TeleHub), a general framework and semantic for telemetry data collection and sharing. The framework is principled on abstraction, layering of elements, and extensibility and openness. We showed that while the framework is defined specifically for telemetry data, it is general enough to be mapped to existing IoT platforms with various use cases. Our framework also considers the machine-readable and machine-understandable notion in regard to resource-constrained IoT devices. We also present IoThingsHub, an IoT platform for real-time data sharing based on the proposed framework. The platform demonstrated that the framework could be implemented with existing technologies such as HTTP, MQTT, SQL, NoSQL.
Popular scientific work is often interpreted as a written work made based on a scientific rule with the aim that all discussions can be understood by various general groups or not only academics. There are so many benefits that can be felt by teachers from writing popular articles, by writing popular articles the teacher can share knowledge with anyone through his writings, can motivate students. And to take care of promotions for teachers, one of them is promotion. The promotion for teachers is one way to improve achievement and ensure welfare. one of the elements of promotion of teachers from certain groups to a higher class one of the supporters is to make written works published in mass media such as newspapers, magazines, or online media on official websites. According to data released by Kompas, the number of teachers in Indonesia currently reaches 2,698,103. Unfortunately, of the number of teachers who are able to produce a written work is very minimal. This can be proven by the number of written works published by the teacher. This problem is also experienced by SMKN 4 Bandar Lampung, teachers who do not teach Indonesian still find it difficult and confused to determine ideas from popular scientific articles. Based on the partner problems above, our team agreed to provide solutions to partner problems, namely by providing opinion writing training especially for teachers at SMKN 4 Bandar Lampung. At the time of training, teachers are asked to think of ideas that will be used as popular scientific works and to jointly correct the results of scientific writings from each teacher.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
