The ongoing coronavirus pandemic is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV 2) and unique in various facets. The earlier experience from the past severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) epidemics seem to be insufficient and there is need for better strategies in public health and medical care. Ayurved & Yog are well known for their preventive and therapeutic aspect, but not getting utilized properly for prevention of Covid 19 crisis which may also be helpful as supportive therapy along with current line of management. This paper is aimed at unrevealing the role of Ayurved and Yoga guidelines established by Department of AYUSH for prevention from SARS-CoV-2 by providing help to improving the quality of supportive/prophylactic therapy in relation with their immunity.
Scorpion sting is an overwhelming & an endemic public health problem in some rural part of the India. Approximately 1,400 species of the Scorpion are found worldwide. 50 species out of 700, in India, can cause serious illness. Most of the studies have focused on the clinical and epidemiological aspects of scorpion stings. However, the venom of several scorpion species can trigger Cerebral, Cardiovascular & other systemic disturbances which may lead to death. Ayurveda has explained numerous medicinal preparations in the management of Vrishchika Damsha (Scorpion sting). This Paper highlights on the presentation of Scorpion sting and its acceptable prophylaxis and therapeutic protocols according to Ayurveda & conventional medical science.
Purpose & introduction: Ayurveda, a pioneer system of healthcare, having history of more than 5000 years is believed as one of the scientific ways of preserving and promoting a healthy life. But now a day the medical education and health care systems including Ayurveda in India are facing serious challenges in regards to its merits and proficiency. The present survey was conducted to estimate the current educational and research status of Ayurveda across the country, based on the responses of Ayurvedic students, faculty members and research scholars from various states of India. Methods: An online survey was conducted after preparing a questionnaire considering various educational, research and awareness related issues on Ayurveda. Total 36 questions were uploaded on the website https://www.surveyplanet.com and facebook group Ayurveda_Admissions_Jobs_Events where number of group members are 16,517 till 10.12.2014. The web link of survey was also sent by email to the students and faculties of Ayurveda. Analysis of the responses was conducted thereafter. Results: Total 1855 participants expressed their opinion through the survey which evaluated the views of scholars of Ayurveda regarding present status and scope in the field. About 47% Participants were not appreciating the quality of education provided by Ayurveda institutes and researches conducted therein over their respective states. Approximately 49% participants were satisfied with the field chosen as a career. A significant proportion of participants agreed about the lack of pertinent initiation by Government and research institutes for the reinforcement of Ayurveda. Conclusion: Ayurveda education & research in India can be further strengthened with innovative & creative motivations. Strategies and futuristic plans are essential to be implemented with active initiation by concerned Government bodies for creating awareness among the faculties, students and upcoming scholars of Ayurveda.
